Best/beautiful knife I've used so far
First ever "proper" knife I've ever used. Initially got the 9.5in one (man it was massive), so I opted for this one. Best knife I've used so far. I sharpened it (stock one was a bit dull) with #1000 and #6000, the razor on this knife is awesome. Cuts thru veggies and fruits with ease, havent dared to cut harder stuff like nuts and alike. Handle is great, although I feel like it's a tad longer. But that's not an issue at all, since I "hug" the knife anyway. Layers are fine, although I still get bit of sticking with potatoes and such. But not same as with a regular knife. I'd say slight stickiness, I just put trivial effort into that - no a problem.Knife thickness is ideal for me, but I'm looking forward for a thicker one (german brand, has twin in its name). I definitely recommend this product to anyone who cooks regularly - you will appreciate how this thing cuts, and makes its easy - and exciting. I did cut myself once tho - my fault really, used that knife instead of paring one. So be sure to use the knife as intended ;)

Excellent knife High quality.
This knife is incredible. I purchased this back in 2014 and it’s my go to chefs knife for 99% of kitchen duty almost 10 years later! Hand wash with soap and water. Keep this bad boy clean and dry it will last you forever. I have a 1000/6000 grit whetstone to keep it sharp and that’s it. Unbelievable quality for the price, this is best money I have ever spent on a product.

Work of art! Quality knife.
Knife is a work of art. The Damascus layers and handle beautiful. It cuts well and is very sharp. Balance is nice in your hands and is not overly heavy. It does need special care as it can't be put in the dishwasher and needs to be maintained (clean right after and dried). That goes with any quality knife though. Overall very satisfied with th knife and it seems to be good value for the money.

... of these about two years ago and was very happy with how they hold the edge
I bought a set of these about two years ago and was very happy with how they hold the edge. I have used misono and yoshihiro is the past, which are also great brands. But this has been a pleasure to use. Especially in a commercial kitchen. Non stop cutting, always cutting through bones and filet fish with no problem.

Love love love this knife
Love love love this knife, use it everyday at work, holds it's edge very well and everyone in the kitchen loves to use it when they get the chance*update because I love this knife so much: whoever gave it 3 stars about the edge is doing it wrong bc the one thing that's amazing about this knife is how well it keeps an edge! Of course you have to do things on your end to maintain it but that's with any knife. The spine is a little thicker so on certain things it can become a wedge and snap what your cutting when you get towards the bottom (like a carrot-not all cuts but when I was doing a large dice I noticed it happening so I had to clean up a few sides) I use this knife for everything! (Hot/cold/pastry) and I will forever! One day I'll get my obnoxiously expensive custom chef knife but until then I'm Zhen all the way!Update:6/13/16I've since learned the spine doesn't make it wedge, it's the 50/50 bevelUpdate: 10/26/2018Still using this knife! Still get compliments and still absolutely loving it!2/22/20: still going strong and still with the compliments! I friggin love this knife!
