Antlion ModMic 4.0 Omni-directional Microphone without Mute SwitchWith the Antlion Audio ModMic 4, you can conveniently attach the microphone to any headset. You can customize the placement of the boom mic anywhere on your headphones with the help of the adhesive sticker on the base clasp. This omni-directional microphone picks up more sounds than the cardioid boom mic. It generally has a flatter response curve and represents true sound recording. The ModMic 4 is compatible to use with a lot of devices including Windows, Mac, and gaming consoles.TECHNICAL SPECS:Polar Pattern: Omni-directionalFrequency Response: 100Hz~10kHzSensitivity: -38 +/-3dBSNR: Greater than 50dBImpedance: 2.2 kOhmsMax Current: @2V: 500mAMax SPL Level: 110dBCompatibility: Windows PC (no adapters required), Mac (USB adapter required), Playstation 3 and 4 / Xbox One / Xbox 360 (Y adapter required)Connector: 1/8" (3.5 mm) TRS maleCable Shield Type: Coaxial shieldingCable Thickness: 1/10"Cable Length: 10.8'Boom Length: 6.9"

These will complement a higher end headset much better than any desktop microphone would
Worth the money. These will complement a higher end headset much better than any desktop microphone would, and are much less of a hassle (I feel, atleast!) than one as well. The cabling is clean enough, I expected the dual cables to be a downside but they're really not bad at all with the 5 included clips. I went ahead and added 5 more using velcro cut to size, and it makes for a very clean experience. Make sure you put the base on the way you want, you have a few tries but that stuff does indeed stick pretty well! I decided it didnt matter that much and just adjusted the boom of the microphone so that it fit nicely. A bonus of the microphone is that due to the cross-valley design of the base and boom holder you can easily flip the microphone up if you're eating, and then flip it back down. The sound quality is excellent and FAR better than the old Logitech desktop microphone I had. It's easily the best microphone I've had. I would recommend you get the omnidirectional as the unidirectional apparently has much worse sound quality. The omnidirectional does not pick up as much background noise as I thought it would at all. I could hardly hear the fan going in the background (It was at the lowest setting and pointed away, granted.).

A quality microphone for a DIY gaming headset.
The sound quality you get from this microphone for this amount of money is excellent, and it very effectively turned my ATH-M30X headphones into an awesome gaming headset that beats out anything in the price range. That being said, it's not quite as convenient having two separate cables for the audio/microphone but the included plastic fasteners are a good enough solution for that. I'm not quite sure how you would use this with a laptop that only has a combo jack though, so that's something to consider but it's not much of a problem for desktop users like myself and I would highly recommend getting this if you have a pair of headphones that you want to turn into a gaming headset.

FIVE STARS for the Antlion Audio ModMic Attachable Boom Microphone - Omni-Directional WITHOUT Mute Switch
It works exactly as described and came with everything as described. I got the Antlion Audio ModMic Attachable Boom Microphone - Omni-Directional WITHOUT Mute Switch for better audio quality. The ModMic works well with my Bose QuietComfort 35 headset and you can point the ModMic wherever you want near the side of your mouth without touching your face. The mic if perfect for Skype and/or Discord. It was very practical of Antlion to have an extra base clamp to stick onto the next headset that I get without having to peel it from the original headset. I give the Antlion Audio ModMic Attachable Boom Microphone - Omni-Directional WITHOUT Mute Switch five stars for working as described.I would recommend this to my friends and family or anyone who doesn't want to sacrifice their headset for a subpar "gaming headset"

Amazing Sound Quality for $50
This mic sounds better than my $200 Sennheiser headset and is very convenient. Being able to use music headphones instead of a headset feels/sounds so much better and attaching/detaching the mic is extremely easy. The mic is however a little more quiet than other mics I've used (Sennheiser, Razer). You must use an external sound device or your mic will be EXTREMELY quiet. I bought the Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound Adapter for around $5 and it fixed any issue. A few of my gaming buddies picked this mic up after I did and every one of us have to use an external sound device to give the mic more power.I'd also like to note that this mic picks up sound extremely easily (like mechanical keyboard clicks), so you'll need to adjust for this if you use voice activation rather than push-to-talk.

After trying out many different forms of headset microphones and not being impressed, I looked for an alternative. The idea is simple and fantastic - turn your headphones that you love into a full headset with microphone. The adhesive connection to my headphones had showed no signs of weakness. The connection from the adhesive patch to the actual microphone holds in place well due to a magnet and an interlocking zig zag pattern that keeps it from rotating freely. As long as I don't temper heavily with it or move around in obnoxious ways, the microphone stays put. the microphone is also very flexible, so that you can easily adjust the volume if it is too close to your mouth. Now the star of the show: the audio quality. This microphone has reached my golden standard of quality where I cannot tell it from any higher priced microphones. The microphone has an "In the room with you" sound quality that if you do not want, this microphone is not for you. For $44.99 (or any price really), I could not find a better and more convenient option.

Easy to use
Easy to use, but installation is a hassle. The 3m adhesive is annoying and instantly bonds so if you position it poorly you're kinda SOL. I liked the feel of the mic and found it much sturdier than my v-moda boompro. It feels nice and rigid but still gives you the ability to full bend and mold it to your liking.I had issues with the particular unit sounding very quiet to people in my voice comm's channel so I bought a replacement hoping to alleviate this issue.I will update the review when my new one arrives to see if I can truly recommend it, but as far as build quality goes I have no complaints. The cable clutter can be a bit much but you get quite a few cable clips to somewhat incorporate it into the cable on your headphones.

No better option for gaming with headphones with no mic.
This device has been my saviour, when I'm so used to crappy headset mics, this has been the best alternative, just find your favourite headphones, use a mic/headphone y adaptor, attach the mounting magnet using the included adhesive, then you can decide when your not playing games to detach the mic, and when you are simply reconnect, very good idea, big props to antlion

Excellent
These are truly awesome. I have recently switched over to using these paired with my favour pair of open headphones.Sound quality:Excellent. They are great, on par or better than the top "gaming" headsets around snd I have used a few wired headsets previously.Build quality:Clang complain. They seem sturdy enoughAccessory:This is why I did not give a full 5 stairs. I am having trouble with the sticky tape on my current head phones. It is most likely due to the face that the headphones are opened styled. Meaning they have little grilled holes rather than a closed headphone. After a couple of months of use, I have found the sticky side peeling off. It is an easy fix (doubled sided tape!)

First one I had delivered had a faulty mic switch - but this was replaced with in 48 hours. Other than that the sound and build quality are tremendous - so much better than the included mic on the headsets I have been used to.

Perfekt
