Caron One Pound Solids Yarn, 16oz, Gauge 4 Medium, 100% Acrylic - Medium Grey Mix- For Crochet, Knitting & Crafting ( 1 Piece )

I knit a lot for charity. Since recipients are unknown to me, I try to stick to neutral colors. There are lots of decidedly feminine blankets knit but not so much is done for men and boys. I think this color works for males and females. So does off-white and hunter green, both colors available in this brand. This is a "true" worsted weight. It's a bit rough while you're working with it, but nothing horrible. After finishing a project, I soak it overnight in a bucket with a couple of cups of white vinegar and water. Dump out water and wash with laundry detergent on hot water cycle. Dry with a fabric softener sheet. Comes out lovely and soft.

The exact color needed and only had to buy 1 since each is 1 pound.

Great bang for your buck, no splitting of the yarn. I find it a touch scratchy when first using it but ran it through the washer and dryer and it held up beautifully and softened the yarn a bit. Pic is of Afghan after wash and drying.

Not the same softness and shine as the smaller Caron yarns

Wow! Looks awesome! Softer than Red Heart acrylic. Larger roll size than Red Heart Jumbo too and cheaper! Jumbos at Wally Mart is about $7.47 and got this for $6.47. Wally's Jumbos are about 14oz and this was 16oz! Nice and softer than acrylic like I mentioned before...can't wait to make something great with it! Thanks!!

Great value. So far no knots or split yarn. Once I learned how to pull yarn from center and anchoring other end, it flows beautifully.

I always like using Caron's yarn for amigurumi projects, and this one was no exception. I wanted it for an elephant I made, and it was perfect! The Caron yarn is, perhaps, not quite a soft as some yarns, but for amigurumi toys, that is a good thing. The toys keep their shape and the fabric works up smooth and doesn't stretch out and gap between stitches after stuffing.

My wife crotches and uses a lot of yarn over the years. She found this yarn to be very satisfactory. She makes good afghans.
