"Must Have"
OMG! This is a Keeper! Wish, I had this book before so many costly repairs!!!! Easy to understand and lots of great information! Yes, this is a "Must Have" for anyone that owns a home and helpful for Renters too. Lots of good information on general maintenance, repairs, including riding ants, mice and more!!! Nice colorful pictures, adding to it's value and easy read. Also, a great gift for a new homeowner! They might look at you funny first and hug you later!!!

Definitely a handy book!
I’m a first time homebuyer and this little book has been handy in my fixer house. I knew nothing as I have lived in apartments for the past 25 years and so I find it very useful!

Great housewarming gift
My son and his girlfriend just bought a new house. I gave this to him for Christmas. Wondering if he would tease me for being old school but he actually loved it because he was like I’ve never owned a house. How would I ever know what to look up to do in a house But having a book actually shows me what I need to - read the book a lot and it’s had him notice a few things on his house that needed taking care of it. It’s a great book

Great Closing Gift from Realtor!
This book covers so many topics and is an essential "How To" Guide for any homeowner. As a Realtor, I included this book in part of a closing gift I had put together for a first time homebuyer client, and he loved it! He said that it became a lifeline! Great pictures, clear problem solving tips, and lots of money saving solutions are all inside. Highly recommend!

Only for the very green
There were lots of good tips in here, but after only being a homeowner for a few years I have found most of what I needed to know that was in here just from Google and Youtube. There were only two small things I didn't know and it wasn't anything earth shattering. You should be able to get much of the same info just by searching online for things like "how to help energy efficiency in your home" and "home cleaning tips". If you are very new to being a homeowner and want some tips that are all in one location this is a decent choice.

Perfect for a new house owner.
A few reviewers complained that there is a lot of common sense in this book. I suppose that could be true, but it doesn't stop this book from being useful. This book has a lot of info in it, that is perfect for me (a new houseowner) who is overwhelmed with the upkeep and maintenance of a house. A lot of common sense goes out the window when you're busy tackling problems, and this book organzied my mind to tackle issues that arose, or look at things that could eventually erupt into major problems. Great stuff in here!

Not appropriate for UK use
This book is American/Canadian and not appropriate for UK use, however for an American/Canadian i'm sure it's good, there is a lot of well presented information!
