I should start by saying that I'm a gadget-nerd. I have a lot of home-automation and am a subscriber to Amazon's unlimited music service. Before buying this item I also had my phone set to automatically connect to my car's bluetooth. My phone's bluetooth is always on.With all that said, after about 10 - 15 mins of setup, most of which was downloading an update for the device over 4G, this gadget now works seamlessly with no intervention on entering the car - I just keep the car set to bluetooth audio mode. All I have to do is start the engine and a few seconds later I can start giving the Roav instructions - from opening the electric gates to playing a particular radio station, playing any of 40 million songs, placing a call or navigating to a destination (at this point I need to take my phone from my pocket so I can see the screen, but don't need to touch it otherwise) - this is a 100% voice activated system if you want it to be. When playing music the artist and track names appear on my car's display and I can skip tracks / change the volume with the car's usual buttons if I don't want to do this by voice.A complete voice-activated in-car entertainment system all in one device. All you need in your car is one of the following: a cigarette lighter port plus either a 3.5mm audio input jack, bluetooth or an FM radio - everyone has one of those, right? Great gadget - just what I've needed for a few years now. Buy it!!!!

Product looks and feels quality. It was easy to setup with my iPhone 8 Plus in my 2016 C class Mercedes. When stationary at home this works really well and as we can pick up Wi-fi on our drive there are no issues with delays or connectivity. Sadly when out on the road there are delays and connectivity issues (Vodafone problem and not this product) and also our Mercedes is quiet whilst driving it we found we had to turn the music down and raise voice to the point of shouting sometimes. Such a shame as the Amazon echo auto will need cables everywhere which I didn’t want. Overall a great design with easy connectivity and does work well, just needs better noise cancelling microphones and I’d be straight back for the next version. I have several other Anker bluetooth products which work perfectly so I like the brand. Maybe if your cigarette socket is in a different place it would be better for you. Also consider how your Bluetooth and stereo work. On my car the mute button on steering wheel pauses the Bluetooth connection completely and you can use this to mask the music but then have to turn volume up quickly to hear Alexa respond so it’s not a simple seamless experience. Had the microphones been better I could have worked with this.

Have used this type of connected device before (FM - BT) & they are great in older cars. Saw this device, being that of a licenced Alexa product and jumped at it.Got it all connected pretty quick (Car & Handset), only i couldn't get it to 'hear' an announcement, made them fine to other Alexa's in the home - just not hear them back, so i reported this with the manufacture (awaiting response).Turned off the car, but then turned it back on to try it all again to make sure all else was fine. Then it'd connect okay but only play the 'connected car sound' through the handset and then, extremely quietly to boot. Try as i might, over a couple of hours i could not get it back to the first connection. I deleted everything, tried all manner of processes.It really isn't fit for purpose, extremely flakey at best. I simply cannot belive that Amazon signed off this product, which they clearly have (It shows up in your 'devices' list with the Alexa App). I can only imagine that Roav spent a massive amount on the licence and then rushed the product to market.My opinion, reached via my experience of the product: AVOID until a stable product is out there & you see mountains of positive reviews. Really disappointed, item returned.

This little device arrived well-packaged and with sufficient instructions to get it up and running in the car very quickly. Having already installed the android app, the walk-through on screen also helped to quickly set things up the way I wanted.Others in the reviews here suggest some difficulties in the device picking up commands during music playback. I haven't experienced this. Given that the device is plugged into a socket below a Toyota Prius gear selector console, (not in line of sight), I am very impressed that it picks up my voice at all.I have connected the device via Bluetooth and all functions, (calls, queries & responses, music), work perfectly. Sound output is perfect.I was hopeful that the device would let me data call other Alexa devices but that doesn't yet seem an option. What it can do over data, however, is broadcast a message to other Alexa devices in my account at home and leave messages to any other Alexa device. This is great for alerting the family at home that I am on my way, for example.Whilst I don't anticipate using the 2 other connection modes, (FM or AUX), they are nevertheless welcome. The two USB power ports work very well and mean that I needn't remove this device as power is always available for charging our phones simultaneously.An excellent device.

Works well for playing radio stations playing bluetooth from my phone and connects quickly. Were it lacks is spotify connectivity, Amazon music doesn't seem to work and asking for directions is a bit of a mere but it's not exactly work perfectly in the UK yet.It's easy enough to connect app is easy to understand and you can contact customer service through the appYou can do most things with lights etc but need to sort out spotify and music properly. That's why it gets a 3UPDATE- went up 1 star due to the the brilliant customer after care from Roav, very friendly and trustworthy company

I like it for turning on lights etc before I get home but very disappointing it does not support Spotify. I showed it to a few friends of mine and they liked the idea but when they heard that it does not support Spotify they were not interested.

Not useful in india

J'ai acheté un premier exemplaire. Je l'ai installé dans ma voiture et malgré quelques limitations agaçantes, le Roav Viva Pro me permet d'écouter de la musique (Amazon music fonctionne bien), des podcats (comme à la maison), de recharger (vite et bien) mon téléphone. Content, j'en achète un 2e pour ma femme.Pour finaliser mon installation, je souhaitais changer le wakeup word, ça marche pas... ! Je contacte le support dédié... Entre les démarches administrative (plusieurs emails d'échanges pour me permettre d'accéder au support, je n'ai jamais vu ça !) et l'incompétence du correspondant j'ai finalement compris que ce n'est pas possible. Soit, je l'appellerai ALEXA !Mais depuis quelques semaines, je n'ai plus de connexion entre mon tel et le Roav. Je me dis que je vais attendre la nouvelle version de mon OS (sur le tél), la nouvelle version de l'app et enfin du nouveau firmware du Roav. Au bout d'une 10zaine d'essais j'arrive enfin à me connecter au Roav, je lance la mise à jour du firmware (c'est presque plus long que mettre à jour son Win10...) et, oh ! miracle je retrouve la connexion avec le tél... Mais pas pour longtemps. Toujours impossible de se reconnecter ou alors une fois sur 10. Même problème pour ma femme. J'attends une réaction du support Roav quelques jours encore... Je vais peut-être attendre Amazon Echo Auto s'il est équipé d'un émetteur FM...Presque 1 an après, la situation ne s'est pas améliorée. Je jette l'éponge.Bref ça fait cher pour un simple chargeur...

Not much of a use if u live in India. Most of the functions won’t work. Hope to improve by future software update.

Le mode FM est catastrophique, tout simplement car le réglage de la fréquence est complètement faux, l'écart entre fréquence réelle et fréquence affichée peut atteindre 0,9 Mhz ! (Mesures validées avec du matériel radio pro!). Et quand on arrive à trouver la vraie fréquence, il y a un bruit de souffle persistant. Le réglage se fait par pas de 0.2 Mhz alors qu'il faudrait un pas de 0,1 Mhz.L'autre défaut logiciel concerne la lecture de la musique, de Podcast ou de stations radios. Alexa annonce lancer la lecture mais aucun son ne sort. Il faut dans ce cas forcer la fermeture de l'application et redemander la lecture, ça marche à tous les coups mais le problème est quasiment systématique.PS : je suis arrivé à ces conclusions en ayant testé 2 produits (échange demandé à Amazon), ça exclu donc le défaut de fabrication sur un. Là, on est dans le défaut de conception.Pour chaque modèle testé, les versions d'applications, de firmware et d'Android étaient à jour.
