Love this pen! Excellent value for the price. Writes great and the smile on the nib is priceless. Would be great for a kid but I’m a grown up professional adult and I love it.

I love my Metro but when I wanted to buy another, I discovered the price had nearly doubled. Since this was a "want" not a "need", I decided to try this "student" pen which had good reviews on JetPen. I ordered the medium nib because I thought it would be easier to write with in case the nib wasn't as smooth as the Metro (which I have in a fine point).I did have difficulty getting the ink to flow the first time I used it. A lot of flicking, tapping, dipping in water but finally it worked its way down and now there is no problem with the feed and it writes as smoothly as the Metro.One benefit which I didn't expect: the plastic barrel is much more comfortable to write with in the winter when it's cold! The plastic doesn't get cold like the metal of the Metro.EDIT: 1.5 years later. Sadly it has started to leak. Also after changing the ink cartridge, it is very difficult to get the ink flowing. I have to really flick it, which of course makes it leak. I've taken it apart and rinsed it but nothing helps.

This is supposed to be a pen for beginner fountain pen users, but I've used them for years and I love this. It's sturdy enough for everyday use, but also light enough that your hand doesn't tire.Especially good for those of us with small hands (even adults) and thick enough to be managed for someone with arthritis.I live in a very dry climate so clogging ink is usually a problem, but not with this pen. I pick it up after days of not using it and it flows right away.Excellent value for the money. Highly recommended.

I paired this with the Pilot Con 70 and it works great! Very lightweight and the grip fits my small hands well. This is my first fountain pen to test and see if I like them and this has left a really good impression!

Smooth writer, compact, with Pilot's uniquely engineered feeder system, great inkflow with no skips. Japanese Medium nib is about equivalent to European Fine. Uses pilot cartridges, and with a converter writes equally well withpermanent, waterproof and other inks. This is an excellent pen for any purpose you'd use a fountain pen. Adorable winking smiley face on no s are adv extra treat for my daughter's. Larger than a pocket pen, smaller than a standard sized pen, a great starter pen, great for young people --- my daughters love theirs--- and great as a Knockaround (not something you can easily say about most fountain pens) that writes as well as a pen 10 times the price.

The Pilot Kakuno is the first fountain pen I've ever owned and I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it! I've used many many different inks with it- at first I refilled the plastic cartridge it came with via a syringe and needle (I'm cheap and I don't like to contribute to landfill waste) but I did eventually purchase the CON-50 converter  Pilot Fountain Pen Converter (CON-50)  at a local Fountain Pen shop. Ergonomic design, easy to clean, and indestructible, the Pilot Kakuno will always be a favorite in my collection.

On the Pilot Kakuno - the medium nib version is much smoother than the fine nib. Love this pen. I purchased purple ink cartridges for it. Makes writing letters fun again!

Love this pen! It is super cute and I love the pastel colored caps! It is definitely great for taking notes! The ink runs nicely through the pen! Very nice for beginner fountain pen users!

Reliable fine nib (Japanese medium) and works with pilot ink converter. A great starter fountain pen.

この細字が気に入ったので中字を注文しましたが，穂先がよく利いて漢字に向いてます．今までの高い(万円筆）のをありがたがってた自分は,一体，何だったか，と反省させられました．

書き味が引っかかりを感じて気持ちよくない。すぐ使わなくなった。

ほぼ初めての万年筆です。書き心地も良く購入以来毎日普段使いに使っています。気軽に使えるのがいいですね。別の色も使いたいので、買い増し予定です。

パイロットが１０００円程で売り出している安い万年筆ですね。そんな安物・・・なんて思うかもしれませんが侮れません。高級万年筆には及ばない点は多いかもしれませんがこれにはこれの良さがあります。握りやすい六角形のボディ。ソフトな色使い。キャップを色分けしているので、見た目で区別できる。鉄ペンの書き心地ではあるが、悪くはなく良く書ける。安いので複数買いやすく、それぞれに違う色のインクを入れて楽しめる。私はF細字とM中字を購入しましたが、どちらもしっかり書けます。M中字は少し太めの線でインクフローが良く、ヌルヌルスルスルという書き心地です。
