is it any better than 960 pro?

1) 970 Pro has 1GB DDR4 DRAM cache while 960 Pro has 1GB DDR3 DRAM cache. 2) 970 Pro has a newer Phoenix controller while 960 Pro has a Polaris controller.

Don't listen to these clowns. Looks like it is compatible. You'll have to get yourself an M.2 Enclosure. Connect it to the USB port, then use the Magician Software to clone. Shutdown and just replace the old M.2 drive with the new one. This answer is coming from an IT Engineer with 20+ years under my belt.
