CamelBak eddy Water Bottle, 20oz

I recently ordered the CamelBak Eddy Water Bottle which holds 20 ounces of water. I had previously purchased this water bottle at Hy-Vee and loved it so much that when I lost it I had to look for a new one to replace it. Unfortunately, it is no longer sold at Hy-Vee so I had to look elsewhere for it. Convenient and easy to use You can easily carry this water bottle with one finger because of the integrated handle. This size also conveniently fits into a mesh pocket on a backpack for hiking up a mountain or across campus. If you own a carabiner you could easily attach it to a bag or belt to carry. The loop on the handle comes in handy while carrying an armload of things in from the car. It is perfect for driving as it fits nicely in your car’s cup holder. When driving, you don’t have to tip it and take your eyes off the road. You can easily drink from this bottle with one hand. This water bottle is so easy to use that my friend’s nine-month-old baby figured out how to drink from it. Washing This bottle is easy to wash. The straw and bite valve easily remove from the lid for washing. It is dishwasher safe so that makes it even easier to wash! Leak Proof and Sturdy Since you have to bite the valve in order to get water out, it is naturally leak proof. The bite valve also folds down which also keeps the bottle from leaking and helps to keep it clean. This bottle is also very sturdy! As a disorganized and clumsy student, it has been dropped on the bus floor and fallen off my nightstand yet it remains intact. Even after dropping it on the sidewalk it won’t even have a nick on it. It has even survived a trip to Costa Rica and back. Shipping This arrived right on schedule and was exactly what I was looking for! I ordered three different designs, Blue Oxford, Purple Feathers and the Floral Headband. I am absolutely pleased with all of them! Drawbacks I have very few things to say as far as drawbacks are concerned. It has happened that the straw has come out of place after dropping it, but that is easy to fix. In order to fix this, you just need to reach into your bottle, grab it and reattach it. The only other drawback that I have, is that sometimes after reinserting the straw water can get trapped in it so that you can’t suck any out. Again, an easy remedy is to take the straw from the hole, let the excess water drain and reinsert the straw. Others complain that their bottles have grown mold or leaked but I have not experienced these problems. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase!

Awesome bottle! Does not spill and the rubber mouth piece is easy to use and seals every-time. You have to lightly bite the nozzle to open the straw, once you release the pressure it seals back up and will not leak. I have had this for two months now and drink an average of four bottles a day. No problems at all. My co-workers have also started buying these as well due their great looks and my raving review. The three other co-workers that bought one also rave about it. The straw is sturdy enough to penetrate a full bottle of ice and does not stain the color of water additives. The bottle walls are firm and solid like a glass bottle. Its just a great product in a world of bad ones.

We really like these water bottles. I have a larger one and bought this one for my son to take to school. I love how they don't leak at all and the tall slim design is nice to slip in the bottle holder on his backpack. It's also big enough to hold a good amount of water. I have heard people complain about the mouthpiece and lid getting mold because of water sitting in there. I make sure I take it apart *completely* every other day or so and wash it thoroughly. The rubber mouthpiece comes off completely making for easy cleaning. (I also purchased replacement mouthpieces for when these do start to break down and get old) I don't mind the little bit of extra work to keep this clean because it is such a nice water bottle and again, love the no leaking part.

I'm a big fan of Camelbak products and I love the design and simplicity of the Eddy Water Bottle. The water bottle works great especially since you don't have to tilt the bottle or your head back to drink (a problem some may have if you have neck issues, or are trying to discretely sip water in a meeting) . I love the fact that it comes in so many colors always fun to pick something that you like. I put a carabiner on the opening of the cap so that I could clip this to my work bag, gym back, or whatever I had if I was running from one place to another. This helped to ensure I didn't lose it. The reason I give it four stars over five: - Plastic vs. Glass Containers: I'm not a big fan of plastic from the standpoint that plastic tends to be more porous so if you enjoy putting lemon slices in the container and then fill it up with water later you still taste the lemon. And even though it is BPA free you never know what chemicals are leaching back out into the water. - Difficult to Clean Mouth Piece: The top cap bite/seal mouth piece is incredibly difficult to clean and very easily builds up a black mold / mildew that is hard to disinfect. Even regular trips through the dishwasher won't get into those places to keep it clean. The one nice part is all the pieces of this come apart so you can take apart the straw, cap, and mouth piece. - How I Clean the Mouth Piece: To clean these items I take a glass of SUPER hot water and put all the pieces inside and fill up the glass letting it soak - after about 45 minutes of a good soaking I train the water and fill the glass up (with all the pieces still inside the glass) with hot soapy water. I put my hand over the glass top creating a seal and shake the glass of soapy water around vigorously to get inside all those areas. I take a small stirrer for coffee or the end of a knife (pretty much anything with a fine point) and wrap a paper towel with soapy water around the top of the fine point and probe it into the bottom (opposite side of area you put your mouth on) and scrub the inside where the mildew has build up and then flush it out with warm water. This usually cleans it well enough to continue using.
