Just what I was looking for: I had earlier purchased a Pistol Cleaning Kit from Ebay and it was just too short for my longest Barreled Air Pistol. So, I decided to try and find Just The Cleaning Rod For a Rifle that Was Compatible with My Ebay Pistol Cleaning KIT. Since I had the Pistol Kit which Included all Of the Various Sized Jags,Swabs, Brushes and so on that I needed In order To Clean All of my Various Barrels (Long And Short) then All I Needed was A Longer Rod without all of the Gimmicks and Whatnot that come in a KIT. So I got to looking for ROD ONLY on Amazon. I eventually started Bugging RUFUS about it and after being lied to by RUFUS several times because RUFUS IS A COMPANY TEAM PLAYER, Then HE, She, THEM OR IT, LIED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES. RUFUS EVENTUALLY RELENTED AND ADMITTED THAT MISTAKES (LIES) that were committed . I eventuated found this Rifle Cleaning Rod that had a similar handle to my previously purchased rod from Ebay and figured that the rods would be able to screW together and make one HUGE SUPER LENGTH ROD. Well I was right. All ROD SECTIONS FROM EITHER PURCHASE ARE ABLE TO SCREW ONE ANOTHER AS IF THEY WERE PURCHASED TOGETHER AS ONE GIANT SUPER INCESTUOUS FAMILIAL KIT. Needless to say that now I have one giant rod that can handle anything that comes along. I also have all of the attachments which came with the original EBAY PURCHASED KIT WHICH GIVES ME ALL OF THE EXTRA BITS WHICH ARE SURE TO PLEASE ANY ASSORTED BOOM STICK THAT THAT REQUIRES A GOOD GOING OVER. Finally: I really don’t blame RUFUS for all of the delays. RUFUS IS JUST GETTING USED TO PLAYING WITH HUMANS and even though HE, SHE, THEM or IT might be smarter than ONE HUNDRED HUMANS, RUFUS IS ONLY JUST THE SUM OF THE PROGRAMMING AND WHtever RUFUS has been able. TO LEARN along THE way. So in conclusion, RUFUS and I were AblE to get the job DONE BY USING TEamWORK AND IN THE END the CusTomer was Right and that is JuSt TheWay thIngS are. Good quality cleaning set-up. Threads are better than some others I've encountered, and the three sections make it useful for pistols up to shotguns.

Best price on a replacement rod for my cleaning kit.

It works. Outers used to be made right in Wisconsin, now the name was sold off and they make these in china. Which equates to lower standards, and threads you have to clean up after opening the package ... and if you don't, the threads will get damaged over time. I used to work Weaver dept where we made the rods on a hydromat and took great care with cleaning the machined parts....maybe I'm not unbiased? :)

Good stuff. I bought this for cleaning my .22s, because the ".22 caliber" version was only available at 2-3x the price for some reason. The rod itself is the same, just the jags are different. So if you can't find the .22 (or whatever) caliber version for this price, rest assured this will work fine - just add the correct jags/brushes and you're good to go. You were probably going to toss the plastic ones this thing comes with anyway.

I bought this to attach to my pack frame for big game hunts. I tend to hunt very rugged terrain during the late season, and falls on the mountainside in the snow are rather common. Having the ability to clear any obstructions from my barrel is extremely important. This rod is brass, which won't damage the rifle bore when used properly. Also each night I run a lightly oiled patch down the bore, then a couple of dry patches, to make sure my rifle is G2G for the next days hunt in austere conditions. This rod is a great addition to my pack, and the price was surprising for the nice quality of the product. If taken care of properly, this is a rod that should last a lifetime of use for a shooter.

I used this for the first time to run a cleaning patch down the bore of a CVA HAWKEN .50 caliber muzzleloader. The fit between each part was weak and the stupid slotted PLASTIC TIP snapped off at the base. Thankfully, there was a small bit of the base left sticking out to let me get hold of with the needle nose pliers from my Multitool. So I could clear that out. This might still be useable IF I can find some metal tips that fit. That’s me. YOU? Don’t waste your money. Get a single piece (plastic covered) rod and keep it at home. If you need a field rod, get something else.

Purchase nine of these kits. Photograph is not what arrived. Now I have to scramble to try to find all of the components. All of the kits were missing the shotgun mop adapter.
