The knives were very dull

I ordered these for my Dad for his birthday, after MUCH deliberation on Amazon, as there is a wealth of options in terms of knife sets for the kitchen to buy. Although they took a little while to arrive (but still within their allotted delivery schedule), he (and therefore me) were extremely happy with the product. Sheffield Steel, very well made - great sizes and handles for differing cooking uses, but one thing I would add for other buyers is that they are all serrated, which means nothing in terms of sharpness and handling, but anyone hoping to get say, a smooth blade on a cleaver type knife as part of the set, may be disappointed. But as an upgrade from your standard wooden blocked - say £25 sets from home stores, but without paying silly £150+ money, this Richardson Steel laser touch is ideal.

Good price but....1) All the knives have a serrated edge - would prefer to see the set have one sharp-edged for slicing2) The handle and blade on two of the set have an annoying habit of separating - easy to put back together, but not ideal.

Nice knives, sturdy, sharp and pretty, however after only a few weeks of use (my mrs is incredibly anal aboutncleaning, washing, tidying, so no negligence issue here) rust spots begin to appear in the serrations and the metal flakes, not good.The block, whilst nice has the RS logo on very wonky, which is annoying when you are a freak like my girlfriend,Good knives, dissapointing rusting after short use

An excellent set of kitchen knifes, time will tell if they retain their sharpness but I have no doubt that they will. With their serrated edge they can not be resharpened but so far they work very well and look very nice on the kitchen work surface.

We searched high and low for the laser edge knives to replace a set of ancient some sheffield richardson wooden handled ones.Bought as a gift, and mother in law really likes them, and was persuaded to finally throw away the old broken knives.
