An excellent blade
What separates Merkur and other similar blades such as Balzano is that these blades are more substantial. Consequently, when shaving the sensation is more as one gets when using a straight razor. The positive difference in feel when using an adjustable razor is considerable. The Merkur blade easily lasts for several shaves....even more depending upon how thick the growth is. Proper preparation using an excellent soap well applied is important, and consider using one of the pre shaves such as Proraso.

Very Good .. But Not Great
Okay, so I always used to purchase these Merkur blades -- Well, the ones in the plastic sheathing that were actually manufactured in Germany -- These are not quite the same (packaged in a cardboard sheathing and made in the Czech Republic). Yes, I was a little perturbed to discover that these were not the 'real deal' (or perhaps they are the 'real deal,' but Merkur has changed their manufacturing location for these). That said, after I let my annoyance fade I gave them a try. Now it's possible I was a bit mentally skewed when I tried them out because I knew that they were not my normal, tried and true German-manufactured blades -- So, at least as far as I perceived, these CZ blades didn't perform quite the same / as well as the German ones -- Regardless, I've tried many, many, many double-edge razor blades in my day and I find these are still the 2nd best ones to date (2nd only to the German made Merkur blades). Now, since I've been continuing to search for the actual, German made Merkur blades to no avail, these have become my new standard (unless I am someday able to find the German made ones). So in short, these are not made in Germany, but in the CZ -- But if you can't find the German ones like me, I do recommend these -- I've still found them to be better than any other non-Merkur double edge razor blades.

Not the quality Merkur is traditionally known for
Merkur blades have been my favorite go to for the past fifteen years. The German Merkur blades that I am used to were not the sharpest blades, but they were sharp enough and did not lose their edge very quickly. They were consistently smooth, shave after shave, for at least a week. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about these Czech made Merkurs. The first shave I got from these blades was fair. The blade was sharper than I remembered the German Merkurs to be, but smooth enough. However, the shave was not that great and it was only downhill from there. My second shave was rough. The blades do not keep their edge, and they are not as consistent as the old Merkur blades. I also noticed that the price has gone up even though the quality has gone down. I have no problem with Merkur outsourcing to the Czech Republic, their neighbor to the east. However, they apparently have not set forth good quality control standards with this transition. I approached the blades with an open mind but was very disappointed.

A decent value razor blade
Good double edged razors. I find I can get a longer shave out of these than other brands - I expected these razors to be higher quality in my mind, so hopefully that isn't confirmation bias. But it certainly seems like a slightly higher quality blade with more durability. I've never had a nick from one of these blades that wasn't kind of my own fault (going to fast and jabbing, etc.). One thing I will point out: Merkur is a well known German brand and they love to plaster SOLIGEN all over their website. These razors blades are made in the Czech Republic. I'm not a big fan of dishonesty in branding/marketing. Just pointing that out in case you case.

Excellent Blade
I’ve been trying various blades...after looking at reviews from a variety of sources. Used all the blades in a sampler pack before trying these. Bottom Line: These work great for me and better than any of the well-known brands in the sample pack. I was very disappointed in Feather, which is often highly rated and seems to be the de facto gold standard. To me, no noticeable difference from the much-less expensive Derby I’ve been using. I found the Wilkinson’s to be pretty good; I’d consider them in the future. Anyway, I decided to try Mekur. Thus far, I’m delighted. Very smooth and close shave with no nicks. I’m on my 10th shave with current blade and still getting a great shave. Will have to see how long they last to see if cost is justified, but based on quality alone, they are a winner.

Very good blades and longevity but that is where the cost comes in, you have to be willing to maintain these a little, use a piece of jeans to sharpen the blade and the platinum coating will go a long way. Not the most comfortable shave I have had in terms of other high end German blades.

Sí, son caras, lo sé pero son las mejores cuchillas que he probado, ni irritación ni un sólo punto rojo. Increíbles.

Nice blades, have always used Japanese Feather blades which I couldn't find on Amazon.sa - these seem to be a more gentle cut and not as aggressive as the Feather blades, time will tell how good they really are.
