Almost perfect shavette
This is my new primary shaving razor, and I absolutely love it. It's by far the closest thing I've ever used to a straight razor without all the time-consuming maintenance. The blade holder has enough heft to it that you can shave properly using just the blade weight, which is great. The only complaint I have about this is that the mechanism for inserting the blades is simply a clamp that you have to drop the blade into, without anything actually holding on to the holes in the blades. That's not a huge issue, but I would feel a little better if it were slightly more secure. Now, if you're looking at this and having any concerns, it's probably about the price vs. a cheaper shavette. To be perfectly honest, the only reason I bought this when I did is because a seller had a couple in stock for like $40 less than the usual price. I bought it about a week after buying the Dovo Shavette, which I wasn't as happy with. In retrospect I'm happy with the choice, and probably would have eventually bought it at full price. Here are the big differences between them that I've noticed:1. Blade weight. Or blade holder weight, I guess. The Dovo has no heft to it, but this one has enough mass that you can really shave just with the weight of the blade holder.2. Blade mechanism. The Dovo uses a flimsy plastic insert that you have to pull out and pop open by sticking a fingernail into it every time, while the Feather you can just squeeze the clamp open and let the blade drop out if it's dry, or slide it apart if it's wet.3. This razor actually has a spacer pin and open scales like a real straight razor. On the Dovo the "scales" are just a metal dish, basically, and the blade will run directly into it if you just casually close it.4. Overall build quality. This just feels like a much more solid, better constructed product.

I love this razor
I've had this razor for a little under two years now and I absolutely love it; it is a joy to use. I shave my head and face with this razor using the ProGuard blades. The hinge has just the right stiffness, without any undesirable play. The handle stays in the position you left it. It has a satisfying heft. With this razor you'll immediately understand what it means to "let the razor do the work". The weight of the head will carry it through the hair without any additional effort from the user. I recently purchased a Dovo and was surprised at how light it was compared to this. If you're use to other straight razors you might have the opposite experience. I though this was expensive when I purchased it, but I would spend the money again without blinking if I lost mine.

Second to none!
Let me start by saying I have a huge problem with this kind of stuff in that I buy way too much! I started with safety razors, tried a shavette, upgraded to the feather SS and now upgraded to this. I was bit hesitant because of the price. I figured it holds the same blades as the SS how much different could it be from the SS? I was wrong. This thing is phenomenal! Definitely worth it to upgrade from the SS. I used to get the closest shave with my standard shavette with double edge feather blades snapped in half (confusing but this is a different animal from the artist club). The downside was there would be irritation and small nicks frequently with the standard shavette. With the Artist club SS I got almost as close but almost no irritation and extremely rare nicks. With the DX I can honostly say I get the absolute closest shave of any of my other shaving tools, with zero irritation. Now, I have been using the artist club SS for almost 2 years so I understood how to use it. I definitely recommend this razor for anyone who has experience with straight razors or safety razors. The materials are very high quality and the shave for me is second to none. I find the feather super blades work best for me. My philosophy is the sharper the blade, the less pressure needed, the less irritation.

Great Razor. High quality
I’ve been using the Feather SS for a couple years and I always wondered what the difference between the SS and the DX was so I finally bought a DX. I am glad I did. The machining of the stainless steel is impeccable. It is well balanced. The SS has been a good razor but the DX I like better. The SS is stainless MIM with a bead blast finish. The DX appears to be machined stainless. I bought a Kai Captain and then retuned it. It seems like a good razor but more in line with the SS. Glad I finally bought the DX

The best straight razor!
It's so worth it! I've tried so many and ended up getting this one to pass my state boards and it's literally a life line. It lays perfectly against the skin at The best angle with no drag. The blades by feather are also more curved at the corners than any other blade which allows you to get into right places without cutting.

Superb!
Incredible! Never used a straight style before. First time, 2 passes, smoothest shave I’ve ever had. Balance is excellent and the blades (I bought pros) are the sharpest I’ve ever used. The hairs just come right off. I would very much suggest pre and post shave Proraso products along with a brush, ceramic bowl and a pre shave oil to go along with this. You’ll also definitely need an alum bar - use it during for nicks, and after all over. (I wouldn’t suggest trying this for the first time with some can of foaming Gillette from the supermarket). Bottom line, this thing is dope and the extreme quality makes it the right tool for the job, just be extremely careful.

Great razor
This thing feels hefty in comparison to the cheap folding razors. I work at a barbershop and my intention with these is solely for head/face shaves. I use my cheap razor for neck shaves after a haircut because the cheap razor works just fine for those and I would feel like I was wasting good blades for nothing if I used this powerhouse. It fits comfortably in my hand and looks/feels great. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, it's worth the money.
