FD Coco Coir Brick is a 2.8 lbs. compressed coco coir (pith) block. Harvested from the husks of coconuts, coco coir has many benefits over peat moss. Originally thought to be a waste product, coir is now the leading substitute for peat moss. With coir's growing awareness, many users are realizing that you can also grow 100% in the medium as long as some sort of nutrients is added. A renewable and sustainable medium, FD Coco Coir is superior to peat moss because it holds up to 10x its weight in water. Unlike peat moss, FD Coco Coir does not clump and allows irrigation and root penetration. Coconuts have high lignin content and therefore FD Coco Coir will not degrade as rapidly as peat moss, allowing for multiple seasons use from just one product. FD Coco Coir can be used 100% as a growing medium, for custom soil mixes, as a potting soil, or for seed propagation. The Coco Coir in a 5 Gallon Grow Bag brings you convenience. This is a right size to do Winter gardening indoors as well as growing outside during summer. All you have to do is open the bag and pour water to hydrate the coir. The Coir block will expand and fill almost the 5 Gallons Grow Bag. If you are using Coir as 100% growing medium, please ensure that you add the recommended nutrients by the seed or Plant Company. FD Coco Coir does not attract insects and is not harmful to pets.Fibredust produces consistently quality coco coir growth medium products just for you. To me, a grow bag is NOT a plastic bag!
I very rarely leave negative reviews, however, this wasn't even what I ordered. Or thought I ordered from reading the product description. I think the coir is fine from the looks of the brick, but the 5 gallon grow bag was a plastic bag! I ordered 2. One was not even the right size. It came with a 2.5 gallon plastic bag! And was a small brick. I sent both of them back as an exchange...The replacements were exactly like what I sent back! So I sent them back, too! For a refund...As I said, the coir bricks looked fine, but part of the reason - the main reason - I ordered this was for the grow bags. When they came with plastic bags and one being only half size, I thought that was a little too much - a LOT too much - to pay when I could get twice as much coir elsewhere, for a quarter the price and then buy the 5 gallon grow bags I wanted.

Easy to use
Very cool. Keeps plants moist either causing root rot or allowing overwatering. Great for beginners.

Amazing how plants grow with this!
Got a $2 tomato plant and watched it grow to 4X its size in a few days, then start sprouting baby tomatoes. All within a week!

This is NOT as described. It's a 10 quart bag that fills maybe 2 gallons.

Un peu déçu car, l'affichage de cet article laissait supposeer que le bloc de fibre était plus important qu'il ne l'est en réalité. Le poids est affiché mais le poids n'a que peu d'incidence sur l'évaluatiuon du volume.
