Turtle Beach Ear Force XP400 Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset

I have been using my Turtle Beach Black Ops 2 Tango head set for my Xbox One & PS4 this entire generation, but I needed a new set for another room so I picked up this set of XP400's. I wanted another set of Tango's or the Black Ops2 Xray's but at the time of ordering neither were available, so I settled for the XP400's..This headset was a great choice, they aren't as "stylish" as the Black Ops versions but they are identical to the Xray set in terms of build and features, the colors are just black and green instead of the Black Ops 2 themed sets. All there will be is the one cable from your controller to your headset while chatting online, and when you are not you can be completely wireless again, just unplug the cable and put it away.The older Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers used a 2.5mm jack and the Xbox One and PS4 now use the 3.5mm jacks, so this is the reason for the conversion cable, without it you will not be able to chat. I, in my own mistake, purchased these thinking they'd function on the PC.When plugging them in to a laptop that was also being charged, via 3.5mm cable, there was an audible humming noise that was loud enough to overshadow any other sounds. In what seemed like an attempt from the headset to remove this noise, all voice sounds and other types of sounds as well, in the game (I was playing Overwatch), were seriously distorted, to the extend that I couldn't hear people speaking.Granted, I still loved the headphones, and tried my hardest to play through it.Eventually, I found something that fixed my issue: an 'Mpow Ground Loop Noise Isolator' . It cost me $10 here on amazon, and essentially it removes the hum of a noisy AC line that gets fed through your 3.5mm line.So, I'm giving a rating of 3 stars not because I had trouble getting the audio to work correctly, but more-so because the headphones are, AMAZINGLY, not very compatible with PC. I thought they might just be bluetooth headphones that deliver all audio via bluetooth to a PC, or something along those lines. I connected to them via bluetooth and discovered that it's an extremely low quality channel that's only really suitable for voice. This was a turnoff for me.It was then after that, that I struggled to set up the base receiver and went out to buy a 3.5mm cable separately (Which was part of the negative experience. If you have a 3.5mm input, you'd be making leaps and bounds in service to include a cable for it. You included an optical cable, but for users that don't have an optical port this is really lost on them Even if you made it a separate option on amazon to choose 'Include 3.5mm cable' or 'Include optical cable' or something like that it would be great).So in the end, to use these 'wireless' headphones, I have to have a transmitter set up. I spend most of my time working and gaming on a Surface Book, and part of the appeal of it is that I only ever plug in a power cable. My mouse is wireless, and I was hoping these would function wirelessly as well. Instead, I have to provide two USB ports for power (one for transmitter and one to charge headphones), and I have to manage plugging in an audio cable, as it's not, for non-PS and non-XBOX uses, completely wireless.Which is fine. I don't want to leave a 3-star review because they WORK PHENOMINALLY now. But it was more trouble than I expected.

Not loud enough or bass enough. The ear cups wouldn't sit flat on my ears either so poor outside sound insulation.I was quite shocked actually considering the price of these.If you don't like bass and have large head these are perfect for you, otherwise move on.

Excelente sound quality for game in ps4 , not so good to listen music with cable chat in smartphone and pc( you have to buy apart)

Ich habe mir dieses Header damals für meine Xbox 360 geholt und den Kauf seitdem nie bereut. Der Sound ist spitze, der Akku hält auch bei Dauerhaften richtig lange (und wenn er alle ist, wird halt mal für den Wiederaufladezeitraum das echt lange 3 Meter mini-usb Kabel drangehängt). Die Chat-Sprachqualität ist sowohl laut Gesprächspartner bei mir ausgezeichnet, als auch vom Empfang der Anderen klar und deutlich und separat vom Spielsound regulierbar). Mein Handy ist stets gekoppelt, sobald ich Zuhause bin, auch hier klasse Sprachqualität. Ich nutze es mittlerweile an der PS4 über SPDif, ich kann das Headset nur als Geheimtipp auch aufgrund seines günstigen Preises mit hervorragendem Sound in der Preisklasse (50-60 Euro je nach Verfügbarkeit) empfehlen!

Don't buy i buyed 3 of them .. first one he survived for about a years , second 3 month and the last one a few weeks .. the problem : CONNECTION . When you have phone , laptop or something like that , the headset start glitching (connect/disconnect) And after the connection will be dead in the headset and you can't do ANYTHING !!!! please buy the steelseries siberia . I have it for a year and i have no problem with it . rechargeable battery and you can remove it 5 star for that headset .
