I am a 72 yr., old 5 foot, 106 lb. great grandma. I have always been a D.I.Y. person, but size, age, and health have slowed me down and I figured adding a couple of rooms onto my home was a bit more of a challenge than I was up for so I hired a contractor to add a couple of rooms onto my single wide mobile home, (a 3 week job they said.) After 3 months they finally had the support pillars in and sub floor down and started on the framing. Then they told me it was taking longer then they planned so it would be almost double the labor they had quoted me. I let them go and hired another contractor to do the wiring and sheet rock. They insisted on working for an hourly wage and said the 4 of them would have the job done in under 2 weeks. Well, 10 weeks later I'd had enough, I sent them on their way and decided to complete the task myself. The moral of this story is, IF you want a job done to your specifications, D.I.Y. is often the best. After 9 months of construction I'm finally ready to add the finishing touches, like hardware and such. My new back door of now off the master bedroom so I wanted a very heavy duty lock system. After much research I came across The Berlin Modisch set. It is very well made, feels heavy and secure, and has a nice sleek appearance. I like the square look, gives it a modern look. Getting it in straight can be a bit of a challenge, but with a little patience you will be rewarded. It feels very solid and secure on my back door. I've purchased a second set to install on my patio door.

This is a great value for the money, like the other reviews said it is heavy and feels substantial like a higher quality handle. It’s much heavier than KwikSet. They come keyed separately so if you want to key multiple lock sets the same you have to take them to a quality locksmith because they are German and apparently the key is not common. I bought two sets for my garage and had them keyed to my Baldwin lock set on my front door so I only need one key for all doors. The locksmith I used had three guys looking at it trying to figure out what key to use but they found it, total cost was $45 for all the locks, I thought that was a fair price. They were pretty much locksmith nerds and said the inner working quality was not high quality, about the same level as KwikSet but the handle and finish were good. They were referring to how long it would last before it would have to be replaced. You get what you pay for in door handles and locks and the more they get used the faster they wear out. This is a good quality product, I’m happy with it.

Seems to be a fairly solid build, made in China. Rather simple design, which often yields a long service life. Installation is very simple, no hidden screws, no extra beauty plates. Solid feel to all of it. Couple of issues I noted, 1. The dead bolt is slightly larger than the handset. Not a huge issue, but why not match them up? This is an easy one to fix- manufacturing tolerances. So, not impressed with that. 2. Striker plates are thin. 3. Screws for jamb side of the deadbolt striker are all small- no large anti-theft/breakin screws. 4. 4 keys are provided but they are as cheap as you can imagine. Based on the cost cuttng efforts- I wonder what other quality points have been discarded. Overall, giving it a 4 for now. We live in a coastal area- so will see how it holds up in the salty air. One additional observation , be very careful not to scratch the polymer coating on the handle. it oxidizes rather quickly. i opened the door with the keys in my hand and scratched the handle. a week later already getting that chalky look.

I just installed this as a replacement to a cheaper door knob that was failing after many years. All the parts fit with very little, if any, adjustment, and overall installation was a breeze. The difference in quality here is night and day. The German engineering is excellent. The parts are very solid and I expect this door hardware will outlast our time in this home. Very nice, clean style for that modern farmhouse look. Comes with four keys, which is nice. Be advised that the black finish will show dirt quickly and may scratch more readily. So far so good, though! I highly recommend this door lock/deadbolt/fixture set!

We bought 3 deadbolt lever set and another lock lever, for a total of 7 locks. We have been using these locks since 2/20/2022 (just 1.5 months from this review), and 2 of the 7 locks already had issues. 1) Deadbolt just failed yesterday and it was coming out from the door. We took it apart and realized that the internal mechanism has a length adjuster to accommodate different distances from the lock hole to the edge of the door. The latch on the length adjuster was no longer latching, so when we turn to lock the door, it was actually extending the interior, as a result, pushing the lock OUT of the door. This is such a design flaw because we noticed it when the door was a quarter-inch out from the edge of the door. We almost couldn't remove the deadbolt from the lock because there's a piece on the deadbolt that became misaligned. 2) Lever screw came out entirely. When we took it apart it was because the female end of the screw from the exterior part of the lock came apart from the lock itself, so the screw took the female receiver with it. We were able to screw the female part back onto the lock itself, but unsure if it will come off again. On the bright side, both my husband and I are fairly handy and are able to take these apart to diagnose, but for people who are less able to do so for whatever reason, these locks will just fail on you. We have installed other locks in the past in our previous property and never had a single issue. Having 2 out of 7 locks fail in less than 2 months is a clear indication of poor quality.

Solid, stylish and easy to install, especially with a pre-drilled door. I replaced a circular knob so a minor amount of painting on the door was required since this one is square but took two seconds. Only minor criticism is the locking mechanism (key insert) on the deadbolt is vertical while the mechanism on the handle is horizontal. Slows you down a little but again, very minor. Still giving it 5 stars for quality, look and price point.

This product is the perfect fit for our Dutch door. It looks absolutely amazing, was easy to install, it’s super study and is an excellent value for the money as. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and very much recommend this product.

I bought in the fall and the handles locks are failing now.
