Consider the amazing Australian hybrid willow. Much cheaper, MUCH taller, and keeps your yard so much cooler! Once established, this magnificent tree grows at least 5 feet per year and as much as 10 feet per year. The more water they get, the faster they grow. They top out at about 40 to 65 feet in 10 years. SUPER drought, disease, and heat tolerant too! For PRIVACY, it is recommended that you prune the tops for the first few years to force thicker growth. It is also important that you AT LEAST plant them every 5 feet. For effective WIND BLOCK in winter when they loose their leaves, it is recommended that you stagger two rows and plant them 10 feet apart with an 8 foot space between rows (obviously the closer you plant them... the thicker and more excellent the hedge) With this formula you can cut wind down 30-40%- that's without leaves!!! (Additionally, if you want to ensure survival of your hedge, we have found that planting 3 starts in one hole is very effective in eliminating the occasional start that dies as they form one giant root ball.) These trees are LIVE plants that just need to be tapped aprox. 3-4" into the soil and watered heavily (for 5X the growth and best results, use our 'Jump-Start' technique which involves 2-3 wks in water and we will send you detailed instructions when you order). These starts come with other tried and tested instructions for optimum growth and survival. (some come as a bare start, but others due to inventory rotation, go out with small roots and leaves- either way it doesn't effect final growth or size) As with all plants, some will not make it, please expect natural die off in each order of a fourth up to a third and to order accordingly. (its just the nature of these trees). Most customers will be very happy if you round your needed number up by 1/4th. Once, rooted, these trees will take off in no time! You'll love this beautiful TREE!

Actually doing great so far so good 😊
We moved out towards benson Nc from garner Nc born and raisedFirst time owning a home wanted some different trees than the normal onesSo I gave it shot and came in the mail fairly quick .arrived wrapped together in a rubber band with a wet paper towels at the bottom I ordered two but I got a extra small one witch I appreciate that too🙂Came will well written instructions oh how to care for them during the beginning process and planting them in groundI immediately took them and and placed them in a bucket filled it with 3inch/4inchs of water about the height of your middle finger and let them sit on my front porch where they get some morning sun and shade the rest of the day and the first few days not much happenThen by 5th day roughly started to see them sprout like a potato (little nubs)Few days after got a lot of rain here and then they really started to take off there was a few days where not much happened but then it started to really bud outI still have them in a bucket at this time they are doing well I have changed the water a few times but they seem to really like rain water mixed in with regular tap water so at this point there is more water than 3inchs or 4inchs more like 5/6inches I only changed it when there was a few bugs that fell in there after a day or twoI’m going to plant them once they are all fully sprouting outRecommend in a wet area or low area of property they will find water and they will find ur well system or septic system of u plant them to closeSeems like one sprouted faster then the rest but they all have sprouted so until they are fully sprouted I will not plant themI will try to update as they go but so far they are doing greatAs of 5/30/20Thank you so much it’s been great so far will try to update when more time passes(For example we bought two blue spruce trees from Ny at nursery for $20.00 each (girlfriend has some family up north)Planted them and I have give them water about 1gallon of water each a day unless a heavy rain but I water them the day after a rain storm because they are thirsty lol they are growing nicely)

Bought twice, not one has survived
I'm not sure what exactly I am doing wrong, I have successfully planted cuttings before. First time I put all the sticks they gave me into the ground, which it said would be ok. no luck. I bought it a second time, they gave me four sticks. Two fat two skinny. I planted one of each size in an incubator I use that keeps the soil moist at all times. The fat one died right away and the skinny one grew some leaves, then died. The other two I sprouted their roots in a solution with rooting hormone and they got some nice roots. I planted them and they died. I followed the instructions to the letter.

Started off as just sticks
Wasn’t sure if this was gonna work but started off with sticks put in mason jars with water and clonex for rooting they did well after two and a half three weeks I placed them in foxfarm soil they went into shock couple of leaves browned a little but with heavy watering every other day they seem to really be taking off

So disappointed
The first time my trees arrived, I put them in jars of water as instructed. I was very excited, as after 2 weeks I had good roots and some leaves. Then, out of the blue a few days later they were dead!I emailed the company and was immediately sent 4 more "trees" (sticks I guess is more accurate). Same thing happened. Started out with a few roots and leaves and now they're dead. 😔 I have followed the instructions to the letter. I'm so disappointed 😔 I had high hopes for these, and even recommended them to my sister, she bought them and hers have died as well.

All hopes are lost....
I recieved shipment and opened pkg to find sticks, then I read the information sheet, I placed them in a small jar and added water, after a coupl of days I ckd them and saw some roots starting, I changed the water as instructed and let them be, after a few more days chkd them again and found more roots and shootes coming from the sticks, changed the water again and suddenly the shoots are beginning to die, I dont believe I will ever see trees...

Willow trees are majestic
It is possible that I missed the part in tbe description that this would be two branches. I'm not sure but I think that my branches have died. I was honestly curious, as the picture is quite magestic, and that was the picture in my brain. This could also be a common sense issue with myself. The branches came wrapped in a damp paper towel, and it also came with a set of instructions. I decided to root my branches first and then I planted them. I hope that I am wrong and if I am, and an amazing willow tree grows, then I will change this review!

Developing leaves and roots well
These are not exactly ready to plant but should be after the roots develope a bit. I ordered theses and instead of 2, they sent 5. 😊 I put them in a glass of water and 3 of the 5 sticks are sprouting well. I am not sure if they have a top and bottom and I may have the other 2 sticks upside down 😒 These come in thin and thick sticks which I will plant when the root system is more developed. I’m very happy and it looks like I will have 3 trees eventually.

First Time Buying Live Plants Online
This is my first time buying live plants online. I was skeptical, but the reviews were comforting. This morning I recieved not two but four healthy looking cuttings. The packaging was very simple, but there wasn't any sign of mishandling during shipping, so the "live plants, handle with love" label does well. Placed in water as recommended by the very helpful and encouraging directions included. Will update as updates come.~TWO WEEKS UPDATE~Every cutting now has roots at least! Directions said it would be about 3 days or so to keep them in water. It took mine about a week until I started seeing roots. As you can see from the photo, one looks like it didn't make it, but today I started to see roots come out of it too. We'll see if it makes it, but considering I recieved 2 extras, it won't be too much of a loss.
