Its way too hard..would it not erode the teeth or cause damage to the gums?

I'm no expert but - Dogs seem to enjoy chewing on hard objects as such don't they? They chew on bones too. Teething dogs will often eat their tooth as soon as it gets dislodged. I think this is pretty safe. My dog has not shown any signs of discomfort or gum bleeding...

I see white powder coat on the product ( from the see thru pack). Can it be fungus ?

That sounds odd. Check manufacture/expiry dates. I haven’t seen white powder coat on these before. That said, these are basically crazy hard yak cheese sticks, don’t think they really go bad. Might just wipe it clean.
