Nutricost Casein Protein Powder 5lb Chocolate - Micellar Casein, Gluten Free, Non-GMO

I wanted to give casein a try over whey because I like to make puddings and mixes over smoothies and casein is supposed to be thicker. I find casein far superior over whey for my needs.As for this particular brand, while I haven't tried any other casein proteins, I am very happy with its consistency and taste. I can add just half a serving of this protein to a 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt with some cinnamon and cacao nibs and I have this wonderful concoction that makes me think of cannoli filling with not a hint of any "chalkiness" or strange aftertaste.It also dissolves very easy in nut milks. I tried almond and macadamia so far and had great results with about half a cup of nut milk per full serving of the powder to create a great creamy starter base for whatever I want to make.Macros are perfect for me as well since I am always counting calories and carbs.I'm sure there are probably amazing tasting caseins out there but for my needs and wallet, this will be my go-to every time because I am quite happy and satisfied.

This protein is awesome, no flavor (the one I bought) that offsets the frozen fruit I use with it for my post-workout shakes. It's also an incredible deal for Casein protein, as it's so much more effective than whey. I commute via my bicycle to work most days, and look forward to my Nutricost shake after my "way-home" workout of additional hills loop. High quality, just the Casein my body needs!

This is the OG of proteins. I only give it 4 starts because the taste is just.... hard. It's chalky and maybe needs more salt or cocoa or something. We know it is the best form of protein for muscle growth but we all gag on it when we have to drink a lot. I guess we could add the salt and cocoa ourselves. It is much better with the PB2 peanut butter powder. We will keep buying it for its health benefits, but wish the taste was a little better.

I bought this for purpose, not for the flavor, but wow. I didn't expect it to taste good. It dissolves like the other casein proteins I've gotten, so no change there. Today is the first day I've tried it. Chocolate resolves everything, I swear. I don't really notice the chalky aftertaste that people talk about, I'm more about the texture. I'm a big fan of shakes and malts, and this is a much healthier alternative to drinking those. I've had so much improvement using this stuff, and despite the change in product source, I have no doubts it will continue assisting me. I don't really know how to measure the progress, but I started this stuff in September, and went from a size 11 ring to a size 9.5 ring, and I'm about to need to swap down to a size 9. I'm still 197, but golly if I don't look it. I'm on top of the world.If you're hesitating between casein protein or whey protein, get this stuff. This will keep you full for much longer than whey protein will. And the lumps that don't dissolve? Think of them as marshmallows lol you'll get a giggle and it tastes better haha

I have bought this a couple times. I think it is a great protein powder.

Zero grams of fat is great, this is super low calorie and just pure protein. The taste is great in simple “protein recipes” i haven’t tried it in baking but i want to. It keeps me fuller for longer compared to whey protein for sure. The taste isn’t as good as the whey isolate from Nutricost in shakes and in general though.

Great values per pound when u buy a 5lb one. And researching found good quality. I’m 65 and bodybuilding and helping me out tremendously.

Terrible. Stay away from this product. My family has two athletes that their trainer recommended Casein whey at night. We tried this brand (we have several other brands in our home) and both family members had SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTIONS. Broke out in hives never happened before. Another had a neck swell. We had to seek medical attention due to the effects of this product. Stay away. (Just a note neither of these individuals are lactose intolerant in any form)
