Great little charger for the money
I bought this for two purposes, one, to charge my 18650 batteries anywhere from my car, from my laptop, from my workstation or anything with a USB output. It works great for that purpose for 18650s, but be aware, it only charges at 1000mah, so for smaller batteries like the rcr123/16340, it's not recommended (they'll get hot with the risk of fire). The second purpose is to use as an emergency cell phone charger and for that, it's even better! Not only can I get a full charge of my iPhone 5 without getting annoying messages, from a single 18650, I can actually get partial charges off a rcr123 and even a 3v cr123! It won't charge off a AA battery, but having the option of getting a partial charge from my rcr123s is great since I always have a flashlight around that has that battery.

LED charge indicator not informative
A super light little battery Li-ion charger that is great for charging batteries when backpacking or bikepacking. It works, in that it does charge my batteries, but the LED indicator never lets you know whether the battery has finished charging. It stays red at all times, even when the battery is full, unless you take the battery out and reinsert it again. When full the indicator shows green. This should be automatic, but since it is not, I am always left wondering whether the charging has slowed to a trickle charge or has completely stopped and I never know if it is therefor not damaging the battery. I will still take this tiny thing along on my camping outings, but just have to remember to regularly wiggle the battery out and in to see if it is actually finished charging.

Works well for travel and car use
I have a few XTAR chargers and ordered this one for travel and car use. I like to have a spare 18650 for my flashlight and the ability to charge the battery. Due to the size and cost I can keep a charger in each car. The size is perfect for traveling and fits in my travel bag perfectly

Great Charger
XTAR MC1 USB Charger purchased from Performance Outdoor GearWorks great, Versatility of charging from any usb power source, power bank, etc. Why tie yourself to an AC power source when it needs to be converted to DC to charge with anyway?5/25/2017 been using this daily for my EVIC VTC Mini batteries, and several flashlights that take 18650 protected and unprotected cells for well over a year. Works perfectly. I will never use anything else as long as these are around.

Too slow Amps too low
This is a fine looking charger and didn't cost too much but for the batteries it charges the charging rate is much too slow to get much done. 0.5amp for batteries at 4000mAh just isn't right. I would suggest for anyone who has a smart charger or other Lipo charger setup make a makeshift charger using a rubber band and two stripped charging cables.

Careful, Might Not Work As Expected...
You might need to charge your li-on (18650) batteries with a more advanced charger, the reason is that this specific type of USB chargers show the battery as "fully charged", but it's not. I bought a couple of this from a different seller with the intent to charge 18650 batteries while being outdoors using a solar panrl, but first I tested this by plugging it to a USB hub at home, things looked fine, battery was charging, once charging "finished" I began using the battery, it discharged way sooner than expected for it's capacity.I recharged the same battery using a more advanced charger, it took about 10 hours to FULLY charge the same battery, not just a few hours like this. If you get one of this, do your testings first in case you might want to use it outdoors, it might not even be useful for indoor use at all.
