Don't camp out without it
Lightweight. Packable. Makes life easier when needing to cook over a small fire.

This is the perfect bushcraft grill kit for backpacking and camping! The smaller grill works perfectly on a flat or twig stove, for cooking food directly, like a burger. The larger grill works perfectly over coals from a larger fire using rocks or wood to suspend it, for cooking larger food directly, like a steak. These grills can also be used for toasting bread or buns. It doesn't take long, however! This kit is extremely well made, lightweight, compact and easy to clean. It also comes with a nice storage pouch. I suspect the grills will last forever, if taken care of. I highly recommend this product! PS: Flip a backpacking or camping pot on its side and place it into the embers from a larger fire. Then, insert one of the grills from this kit into the pot to convert the pot into an oven for baking! You would have to buy a backpacking or camping pot separately, that is big enough to do this, however.

I didn’t experience the sharp snaggy edges that other customers mentioned...not at all. Apparently, the manufacturer has since fixed the quality control issues, as I don’t think I’m all that lucky in terms of not getting the lemons. The units seem well-crafted and sturdy, but I have not used it yet—just received today. I may update later after use. So I cannot speak yet to long-term durability. The small square grid will work well as a top for those small backpacking stoves that don’t have a stable top or cross bar. The larger one is a good size for a larger steak or a 2-3 burgers. I myself plan to use it for things like Korean bulgogi, perhaps. Or Korean kalbi. You need a quality surface for directly grilling expensive meats and I feel this grid fits that need. I honestly haven’t tried anything like bushcraft cooking—but I’m fascinated by the idea. My kiddo is a city slicker and doesn’t seem warm to the idea of roughing it in a camping setting, let alone backpacking or bushcrafting. But I do want to learn and also teach the kiddo survival skills in case of a natural disaster emergency or even man-made disaster situation. It’s like the idea of insuring for large losses. This is part of my inventory of survival and camping gear. Not car camping, which is all big stuff that are duplicates of your regular kitchen stuff. I remember filling an entire minivan for Girl Scout camping. It was a lot of stuff. Ended up giving most of it away. :o Enjoy this smaller product! It’s not for car-camping or tailgating. :) Maybe a bit big for backpacking.

The Bushcraft grill is a great bargain because you get two small grills and its own tote bag. I can use the small grill with my alcohol stove or my canteen wood burning stove which fits both very well giving me a good base to cook or heat. The larger grill I can put on coals or between two rocks or logs and cook or heat in that manner. Both grills and tote bag are well made but I would recommend you wrap them in a cloth after use before putting them in the tote bag so that the bag does not get real dirty and it starts seeping out into your backpack if that is how you plan to carry it. I also recommend using a small metal plate under the small grill to catch any grease if you are using your alcohol stove or wood burning stove or else the stoves will get real dirty. Its easier to clean a metal plate than all your stove components. I do recommend the Bushcraft Grill if you are hiking or bush crafting but it is big enough for 1-2 people. More than that you will need two sets of grills or just a bigger grill. I do recommend the Bushcraft Grill.
