Beautiful Acela train set
I love this train set. It looks very decent and it is reasonably detailed. You can buy additional cars to build the whole 8 element train set as the real Acela. It is a must have if you are interested in modeling the Northeast Corridor.

Dead on arrival
I originally said I was going to wait the Acela II to come out later this year but I decided to buy this one while waiting for the new one to come out. I was excited when I opened the box and set up but I was very disappointed when it did not run. I put another of one of my locomotives on the track and it didn’t run either so I figured it was a track problem. I found out I was wrong when I put it on my working Kato track and no power there either. I don’t blame the Amazon or the hobby shop, I blame Bachmann for the lack of quality control!

Caution: it you love fixing derailments this is just for you
Upon receiving the package the box was a little beat up and some pieces fell off unboxing and taking a look at it Train looks great minus some scratches running the thing is a different story 1. the couplings are terrible Plain and simple 2. If you don’t want derailments don’t have and curves 90% of time you’re going to be fixing it 3. Lastly if you have my luck after fixing some issues the train won’t move!!! How awesome is that
