Reese 44650 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2 Inch Square Receiver, Black, Compatible with Jeep Grand Cherokee selected models (please verify VEHICLE APPLICATION)

Bought this sucker for a bike rack for my wife’s road bike. Could not be happier with the fit, install time and performance. We are a year in through several triathlons and it has been a worry free experience

I first ordered the Curt 13065 trailer hitch for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo as it was recommended by a friend who had one. Curt postponed my delivery four times. That was enough for me as I cancelled the order. I then found the Reese 44650 Class 3 Trailer Hitch on Amazon for my Jeep. It had numerous positive reviews and was mostly hidden behind the Jeeps rear panel on the video. The only negative reviews said that the hitches weren't very securely packaged and some came all scraped up and some seriously damaged. I liked the way the hitch looked so I ordered one. The hitch was delivered within several days in a large cardboard box. The only protection inside the box were three large packets of Styrofoam I guess to keep the hitch from moving around. Numerous parts of the hitch were wrapped in cardboard that also helped protect it. Even though the shipping box was pretty beat up, the hitch itself was in almost in perfect condition with only several small scraps that didn't go through to the metal. Plus the small scraps couldn't be seen once installed. I installed the hitch with the help of my son as it was fairly heavy to try to hold up by myself to line up the bolt holes. The hardest part was trying to remove the four bolts already installed on my Jeep. Some penetrating oil and a breaker bar did the trick. We installed the hitch pretty easily as the four bolt holes on the hitch lined up perfectly with the bolt holes on my Jeep. I did have to scrap off about five inches of the sealer putty on both sides that the factory had sealed seams under my Jeep. This allowed the hitch to be raised up just a little to line up with the Jeeps bolt holes. When I first ordered the Curt Hitch I also ordered the Curt 55774 Dual-Output Vehicle-Side 7-Pin, 4-Pin wiring harness so I could tow my smaller one MC trailer and my bicycle carrier. The wiring harness was delivered in several days. Luckily, this harness perfectly fit into the factory harness already installed under the rear of my Jeep. The harness came with the mounting bracket that easily installed onto the hitches wiring harness mounting bracket. I haven't used the hitch yet, but it's very heavy duty, well made and I'm sure it will function properly. See the attached photo for how the hitch and wiring harness look after installation. This hitch is a lot less noticeable than hitches that you can mostly see under the bumper. I highly recommend this hitch and hope this review helps with anyone trying to decide what tow hitch to purchase.

Was delivered fast. Fits my jeep perfectly. Easy to install, only 4 bolts. Looks great solid feeling trailer hitch. I haven’t used it yet but it seems pretty good.

This fit my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited perfect. It was easy to install. Take out four bolts, put up the hitch, put the four bolts back in. It took me about a half hour. I used a floor jack with a piece of plywood to hold up the hitch while I put the four bolts back in. This is the third one I have bought, for three different Jeeps. These are nice hitches. Just make sure you order the right one for your vehicle.

Received the item the day after I ordered it. Very well made and unlike other people's experiences it had no scratches or chipped paint. The instructions were easy to follow and it used the existing bumper bolts on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. With the help of a hydraulic floor jack to raise it into position I had it completely installed in less than 30 minutes. If you don't have a floor jack you will need two people to raise each end up into position because it's heavy. The instructions say you need a 21 mm socket or wrench for the bolts but I was able to use a 6 point 13/16" socket with a breaker bar to break the bolts loose. All in all this is a great product for the price and really easy to install.

Installed on a 7-year old Grand Cherokee. It is heavy and is definitely a two man job, but the fit was perfect. The mounting bolts were already installed in the Grand Cherokee from the factory which was great as all I had to do was to remove and use them to mount the hitch. The packaging was disappointing as it was just thrown in a box with card board wrapping around some of the parts, but not all. Upon unpacking I found paint missing from the edges exposing bare metal. I sprayed the entire thing with Rustoleum clear coat and installed it in the car. The paint issue is troubling as I expect the exposed bare metal areas to start rusting fast. The hitch was the only thing in the box, no instructions or additional hardware, and didn't come with a hitch cover and I had to purchase one separately. I also ordered a hitch from a brand called Tyger for our Jeep Wrangler at the same time and it was packaged much better with bubble wrap covering the entire hitch, instructions, installation hardware (to be fair, the Grand Cherokee already had the necessary installation hardware in the car) and a nice rubber hitch cover. The paint covered the entire surface of the hitch. This was a much better experience than with the Reese.

This is an excellent receiver hitch. The fit was perfect and the install process was 15 mins. Excellent job Reese for a great and very sturdy build.

Dropped off in rain, does not come with any wiring adapter as the ad leads you to believe. Mine was slightly bent, still easy install. Delivered in the rain and left in the yard. Oh well. Would buy another if I could afford to ship back
