I'm writing this in December 2018 and bought it back in 2014. I was recommending a deck box to a friend and looked up the one we bought on Amazon. I couldn't believe it was 4 years ago! I figured I've got to write a review because it's been a fantastic item and is as good as new 4 years later. The deck box came with all the necessary parts and pieces and easy to follow instructions. It was like a snap-together toy for adults and putting it together was straightforward and satisfying (you feel like you "built" something while all you did was an adult-sized snap-together project LOL!). The quality of this deck box is superb. It has held up to North-East coastal weather extremes - snow, sleet, ice and rain in the winter and heat, sun and humidity in the summer (we're a little over a mile off the coast). It sits outdoors on a porch and keeps everything inside it nice and dry. Our deck box gets a lot of use, is opened and closed daily and has held up really well. It has these sturdy plastic strips inside the lid that keeps the lid from opening too far and falling backwards. They serve a great function and have held up nicely as well. The basket weave pattern is pleasant and classy. It does not look cheap at all, which it easily could have. The brown color (they call it "mocha") is a dark brown color that goes well with a brick and concrete porch. It looks and functions exactly as it did the day we put it together which is simply fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone considering a deck box.

I ordered this deck box to store seasonal decorations and tools that I use in my front yard and on the front porch. It holds so much! It really is waterproof and looks great! It's sturdy, the pieces fit together perfectly and it has stood up to several Pacific Northwest rain storms - keeping the contents totally dry. I have dark brown 'wicker' furniture on my deck and this goes very nicely with that. It's definitely sturdy enough for an above average weight adult, (over 200 lbs), or two average sized teenagers, to sit on safely and comfortably. I will be ordering a second deck box for my back yard to hold bar-b-que tools, outdoor dishes, etc., and also for extra seating. I ordered a much smaller version of this for our front porch, to hold shoes and it also looks great although the sides don't come together quite as tightly as they do on this 73 gallon version - no leaks so far on that one either. In summary, it looks great, functions great and the price is great. Fast, free delivery and easy to assemble - you need two people to put it together just to hold the pieces in proper alignment. I did some research and found this box to be the best value and just the right size. I have this on my front porch to accept deliveries so that passers by are not tempted to grab my packages. I buy almost all my stuff online and needed a big enough box for all those Amazon packages. It is very easy to assemble as long as you follow the simple instructions. It was tempting to just go for it and not read the instructions but I read that some people jumped the gun and ended up snapping together the sides before the bottom and were screwed (hehe you know who you are). It took about 15 minutes to assemble and is very sturdy. It is slightly raised off the ground so that it is not sitting in water if it rains. You can sit on it even though the lid is slightly curved to keep water from settling on top. It also has a metal latch you can add a lock to it although a small opening would only allow a luggage lock. I did not want wood as it would rot and I did not want something that looked cheap, this box fit the bill nicely. It is plastic but the weave from a distance is good enough that it does not look like a cheap plastic box. For the price and size, this is hard to beat. I am very happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Nice storage box. Weather proof and large. Can put a lot of items in to keep from the weather or out of site.

When I started searching for outdoor storage (to stash my huge Christmas tree on my balcony), I could not believe how expensive these boxes were. It's crazy that 6 pieces of plastic could cost so much money but I suppose it's the cost of holding a huge item like this. My main requirements for this box was that it keeps out rain and insects. Over the few weeks I've had this box, we've had crazy amounts of wind & rain and there is no evidence of water seeping inside. Judging from the construction of the box, it does not appear possible for an insect to get inside - there just are no gaps for them to seep into. While assembling the box, I constantly thought that it was garbage-quality (their instructions are pretty useless) and that there was no way this would look nice... but now that it's assembled, it actually looks very nice feels substantial. It is crucial to understand the instructions and make sure everything is aligned properly when building this box. This particular box is very aggressively priced compared to the competition but I have found it to be very sturdy and attractive. --Edit-- It's been over a year and a half. No problems at all with this box. It has kept our Christmas Tree dry and absolutely fine. It worked so well, I purchased a second one to store random clutter around our home on the balcony. --Edit 2-- It has been about two years now. Still perfect. Added a third one (larger, the same model though) to my hoarder balcony.

The first box shipped to us was damaged in shipping and an end panel broken, so had to return it. The replacement was not damaged, not too difficult to assemble, but not as high quality as expected, top panel doesn`t sit well, but it should work.

Well built unit. Put it together in less than 30 minutes. Lid closes tight and keeps the water out. Only issue is with the handles. They have openings into the main part of the box. I found that wasps like to build nests inside as this gives them an avenue to a warm sheltered spot. Easy fix as I put Gorilla tape over the opening on the inside, so I can still use the handles, but the wasps can't get it.
