Beautiful Crowns
I decided I wanted to make flower crowns on a bit of a whim after browsing blogs and Instagram. I didn’t want to buy premade ones- I love crafting, and I loved the idea of making my own! I purchased this book and fell in love. There are wonderful photographs in this book that help you out every step of the way, with suggestions and tips on how to make your flower crowns. I began with the Pretty Pastels Fresh Flower crown and I just loved every second of it. I got so many compliments on my fresh flower crown, and I wanted to wear it forever. This book is broken into seasons- Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Special Occasions. I love all of them, for any time of the year! I also made a faux gardenia hair comb which is such a good way to add a bit of whimsy to an ordinary outfit. One great thing about this book is that it is easy to customize- although it provides guidelines and instructions; it’s so easy to change these crowns up to your own preferences. For instance, I’m currently working on the Under the Sea flower crown. The instructions call for fresh flowers, but it was so easy for me to use faux flowers to make it last longer. I love this book and if you’re at all interested in making flower crowns, you will too!

Flower Power
I decided to read this kindle book because I remember sitting in the grass during P.E. class and making flower crowns by knotting stems together. Needless to say, my makeshift flower crowns did not last. I love flower crowns - I think they are great adornment during the summer at various events such as weddings, wine tastings in wine country, concerts, or whenever you want. As a woman I have a proclivity for flowers.Ms. Doramus does a great job giving you a run down of the general materials you need to make both real flower crowns and faux flower crowns (flowers all year long, ladies!). She also gives you a crash course on what types of flowers are good for what. The pictures in this book are so pretty. It is like you looking at an anthropologie or free people catalog but for flower crowns and hair. Besides being super pretty, the pictures are a great additional tool in this DIY book. As I read the kindle book, I was able to follow Ms. Doramus instructions to make the various types of flower crowns and use the pictures as a guide as well. Ms. Doramus' instructions were clear, concise and simple. I can't wait to make a few this summer. It's a feminine and simple adornment that is classic and whimsical.I am going to suggest this book for my friend that is getting married. It'll give us ideas for hair pieces (headbands, crowns, combs, etc.). The book does an excellent job of giving other suggests such as headbands and combs to make the flower crown idea be more of a daily thing. The book also has ideas for adding feathers and other adornments to the flower crowns. The book also has a great selection of different types of flower crowns and flower combs for each season and different occasions. A fun read!

Ready for anything!
Anyone with an instagram account knows what a flower crown is. Name any music festival and know that attending will be scores of young girls in 90s and/or hippie attire with wreaths of flowers adorning their heads. It's easy to get caught up in the fad aspect of it, but flower crowns and have been around and will stay around for quite some time.Christy Meisner Doramus shows the reader the (actually pretty easy) way to make beautiful flower crowns and hairpins that are so gorgeous, one could use them for even the most elegant of events. There are some fantastic crowns for weddings in this book. Doramus breaks down her book in such an easy to navigate way that the reader will always be able to find the proper flower crown for just the right event.Doramus sections off her ideas for different crowns by season. She then gives the reader ideas for events that may coincide with said season. There's even a crown for Mardi Gras! There's are so many different types of flowers to choose from (keep in mind when making a crown, some flowers may be seasonal) so a crown can be simple or quite elaborate based on the time commitment and skill set of the DIYer. I think my favorite crowns are the fall harvest and the fresh bsby's breath. They are so pretty and timeless that even a plethora of selfies could ruin their beauty.

Oh my gosh yes to everything in this book!! If you are an avid festival goer, music lover, free spirit or general creative soul - this DIY is a MUST!!! It is full of inspiration and easy to follow directions. I mean, there is honestly a flower crown for every occasion - baby showers, no problem. Do people even do that? I didn't realize it was a thing but def opened up my own eyes on things I can do for upcoming friends baby and bridal showers. There are crowns for very occasion, every season and it is simply - amazing. The book is a great guide as it has super easy instructions and is very clear about what materials you will need. It's GREAT. Highyl recommend this. This book is cheaper then what it costs for a flower crown, putting these together myself will save money and allow me to expand the amount of crowns I have and can afford. Love it!! Thank you!!! I have made a few for friends and they seem to love it. I think this book is going to have to start accompanying them. It's a perfect bridesmaid gift too.
