The Candida Cure: The 90-Day Program to Balance Your Gut, Beat Candida, and Restore Vibrant Health Review: Quick and informative read - Such a great book... everyone should read it. Candida is so common that it is scary. I've been following the diet now for 3 weeks and I feel like a new person. I never realized how bad my lack of energy was until I started to have energy again for the first time in years. I lost 12 lbs so far, my body feels so much lighter, my mind feels so much clearer. I actually want to exercise every single day. I am just a much happier person. My taste buds have been woken up by eating the right foods and vegetables taste so much better now. I feel no need to over eat because my body tells me to stop when I'm satisfied. People were saying that this diet is so restrictive that its hard to follow but if you are mentally prepared and know that it is for the better of your health... then it is actually pleasant. You need to start with the right frame of mind. I have no problem food shopping or going out to eat with all those temptations around me because I know what I'm eating is sooo much better for me and my body. The recipes in this book are great so you don't feel deprived. I only recommend when going out to eat bring your apple cider as a salad dressing. I bring it everywhere lol. Bring your coconut aminos with you too so you can add it as a sauce to a grilled chicken or salmon. I even bring my own chips in my bag as a snack or so you can eat salsa/guacamole when you're out. I found a great brand "2 moms in the raw" make 'garden herb sea crackers' that are great for dip. [...]....The book gives so many wonderful alternatives and if you can't find them in stores you can pretty much find anything online. I feel like once you start this diet it becomes your lifestyle and you won't ever want to go back to the crappy way it used to be. So glad I got this book and you will be too!!!! Review: For explanations about why some foods are limited and what responses those foods produce in your body, this is your book - I will probably NOT be able to complete 90-day program from the start; I will have to take her option to slowly remove things from my diet. But her approach is balanced. She says to take ONE anti-fungal and lists several. I now take caprylic acid supplements and occasionally drink Pau d'Arco tea. In other words, she's not advancing a period of excess to see a quick response, but change over time and a plan for maintenance. A lot of what she recommends here is good nutrition. . . eat some types of grains but forego the ones that turn to sugar and are highly processed. But she explains why these recommendations apply to the growth of candida. What helped me the most were two things: her explanation of food combining is one of those. Having lost my gall bladder and now having to eat moderate to low fat foods, there was a risk for me of too many refined or starchy carbohydrates. She does not recommend removing carbohydrates completely, and sure, we all know that refined carbohydrates affect insulin levels; she explains why the good carbs are good. But I was about to pay $40 for a food-combining program, and now don't have to because she summed it up in one paragraph. She also says that your body asks for what it needs, and I am a firm believer in that. It also craves refined carbohydrates and sugars when your blood sugar surges low or high. I've learned to recognize a good craving from a bad one. She doesn't just say "eat this, don't eat that," but explains the mechanisms. I personally love legumes and beans, and never understood why the Atkins diet, which was successful for me when I had a gall bladder, limited beans, but she explains that even while legumes are high in protein, the carbohydrates in them are starches, and have the effect of refined carbohydrates. So now they are treats, once or twice a week. She also explains when and how often to eat fruit. So she just doesn't say what to leave out and what to leave in, but why, and her structure helps create moderation, so you don't feel deprived but you're not limited to just a handful of food groups. I now know I can eat brown rice, when in the past I thought that was off limits. The second thing that is helpful are the recipes. I tried one last night - spicy chicken and cabbage soup. It is a little bit more expensive for me when shopping to buy the things I need to make these recipes, but part of that was a re-stock of my cabinets; I eat at work and often plunk down $7 for a sandwich and chips and a cookie and a diet soda . . . most of which is feeding the candida. If I stop shelling out for fast food and spend my money on good food and prepare to take food with me to work, I'm sure the net effect on my budget will be the same. If you LIKE explanations for the consequences to your body of what you put into it, and WHY nutritionists recommend some foods and suggest eliminating or limiting others, this is your book.

Helpful tips - not an "end all" or "cure"
After dealing with Candida for most of my adult life, finally discovering what it was and that my diet is the main culprit, I have been on a search for "The Candida Cure" ... and I gotta say, I am learning that that doesn't exist. This book offered lots of good advice and helpful tips for me along the way of figuring out what works for my body. The thing that has helped more than anything has been finding an intelligent, holistic-minded dietitian who has helped me to change the way I look at Candida. My approach and view of candida has shifted to less of a "force that needs to be destroyed" and more of a teacher... why does this exist in my body? What imbalances are there that are causing a yeast overgrowth, and how can I approach this in a balanced, holistic way that is good for my whole self, and not just a quick cure to beat candida. That being said, this book helped me along the way in learning more about candida, finding some good herbal antifungals, and good dietary advice. I also recommend the book: The Yeast Connection, by William Crook. It is a bit older, but has lots of good info. For anyone looking to learn more about candida and yeast overgrowth and trying to find an approach that works for them, I do think finding an experienced dietitian or naturopathic doctor, or other holistic healthcare practitioner is the best approach, because they can approach you as an individual, rather than you trying to follow the prescriptions in a book. We are all different and our bodies respond to different things. I am a die-hard do-it-yourselfer and I still found that working with an experienced practitioner helped alleviate my fears and despairs about Candida, and helped me to find an approach that is sustainable and effective for me :) This book has definitely offered some guidance and ideas along the way, and I am all for doing your own research (and this is a good place to do that). But finding a skilled healthcare provider, that has a holistic view of the body, is what has worked the best for me. Good luck on your path to finding balance, health and peace!

I am 30 years old and me and my young family have benefited GREATLY!!
My husband and I purchased this book in February and have been implementing the diet into our lives for the past month and half before beginning the supplements. We have seen incredible results with just the diet, I am excited to see what happens with the supplements. In 2014 I developed a raw egg allergy, had the worst yeast infection (lasting 2 weeks), days after the yeast infection I developed a severe rash under my arms that was very painful and itched. I also had my period twice in that same month after the infection and rash and what I think was the beginning of endometrosis (severe pelvic pain during my menstrual cycle). Since beginning the diet, my rash is faintly there, my period was normal in February and no pelvic pain for the first time in 2 years (since giving birth to my first child), no yeast infections energy to boot. My husband has see the Keratosis Pilaris (bumps on the back of the arms, cheeks, or thighs) go away, dropped 15 pounds, and his eczema improve. We just purchased all of the supplements for the 90 day program, it costs us $300 for the both of us. I did my research and found most of them were cheapest here on amazon. Our grocery budget has gone up weekly by about $50 and I do spend more time in the kitchen. We have also put our 2 yr old daughter on the diet and she is for the first time having two bowel movements a day! I will give an update once we begin the diet and the results. A good beverage on the diet: 3 lemons juiced 1 1/2 cup pure cranberry juice 20 drops of stevia Add to a gallon pitcher and fill rest with water. Yum! And it detoxes your liver. :) 7/28/2015 Update: The diet/supplement plan has eradicated our candida. All of our above symptoms are gone! Also, my daughter who has struggled with chronic ear infections hasnt had one since before the diet. Also, her immune system is amazing now! We have continued the diet, although we have cheated a bit; sugar seems to bother my husbands exczema and it flares up. When it flares up he has to go on the strict diet again, probiotics and candida pills if its really bad. All protocols are in her book if your symptoms flare up. I had the beginnings of a rash in my armpit after drinking 2 glasses of wine, so I have to be mindful of that. We ususally stick with potato vodka, stevia and lime juice. Overall, we have grown and been challenged in ways like never before. We are never going back to our old habits of eating and are more aware of what our trigger foods are and how to handle flare-ups. Our ongoing supplement protocol: custom probiotics, nano greens, candida pills (when needed/stressed), adrenal health (stress), omega 3's, multi vitamin. This was life-changing for us. Please listen to your body, the littlest symptoms is your body trying to tell you something that could become life-threatening.

Too complicated, Not trustworthy
The plan proposed by this book is incredibly complicated. There also appear to be contradictions -- it says no sweet potatoes, and then gives a recipe for mashed sweet potatoes as part of the 90-day plan. As other reviewers have noted, author recommends a lot of supplements. As someone who is used to taking a number of supplements, I take issue with the way the entire supplement chapter is laid out -- which is basically, "take this, take that" with the sketchiest of rationale. To be fair, you can find most of the supplements online besides her website, but when you get lines like ""if your gallbladder has been removed, you can still use a gallbladder formula to assist with the digestive process"--it is, at a minimum, eyebrow raising. My personal experience is that even the most touted "anti-inflammatories" can cause the opposite of intended effect (for me, bromelain, turmeric, and flax seed are all inflammatory for whatever reason), so I was quite put off by that chapter. Honestly I think trying a low sugar sugar/keto diet is simpler and faster. The recipes in the book *try* mimic a regular diet, but call for so many unusual ingredients they are highly impractical in real life.

Exponential difference in my life and well being.
This book was great! I think it's explains and speaks to different ways of thinking. For example, there are different explanations of following the diet change. There is a graph, a recipe list, ingredient list, and a weeks schedule, you can follow and choose any method. It is very straight forward and easy to understand. I've been on the diet For 2 months due to chronic Candida. I've gained many regularities within my body such as a 28 day cycle, which was regularly 42 days long for 2 years, sleep cycle with uninterrupted waking, food no longer makes me lethargic, and I've lost 17 pounds & still counting. Also strongly recommend you get her recipe book. It has some real delicious recipes too even people not on the diet will love and ask you for the recipe! Thank you Ann you've made an exponential difference in my life and well being. Edited: would like to mention my candida was cured by 90 days. I strictly followed the do's and don't eat list with a supplement regiment given by my nutritionist that is similar to the one in the book. Great book and would recommend it and have to all my friends and family.

The Candida Cure The 90-Day Program to Beat... by Ann Boroch
This book is helping me tremendously. My doctor said I had candida in my esophagus and then did nothing about it. After I complained, I got some prescription strength anti fungal drugs, but my body could not tolerate them. Soon enough, I was in horrible pain with my stomach, and it occurred to me it was candida overgrowth in my esophagus and small intestine. Got the book, read it cover to cover twice. I have stayed on the diet ten weeks so far - do not feel deprived. The stomach burning in my large intestines was gone after the first week on this diet. She gives resources for finding unusual foods, recipes, all sorts of tips and ideas. I'm glad somebody has finally come out and told the truth about this - it's pretty hard to get the truth from your regular doctor (because it's their meds that cause it!). It is not an easy diet to follow, although you can take it slowly if you choose to do so. The rewards are incredible. I love the way she backs up all of her claims with the studies that back up what she is saying. It all makes sense when you see it in print. I feel I will be able to heal myself without paying $1,000 to meet with the type of doctor who will deal with this problem. I wish more people would read this... people who have taken antibiotics or steroids even once, and are now having problems with their gut, nasal passages, etc. due to candida overgrowth.

Superior to the other candida guides
I purchased this book along with the Candida Yeast Guidebook. Wow! This one is so much better. It just gets right to the point on how to heal you and guide you to recovery. (The other book is too expansive and overwhelming.) Ann Boroch is so straightforward and informative that I finished the entire book in one day and had a crystal clear picture of what I needed to do to starve out the candida. I'm on the 90-day program now which she outlined. I don't believe you can find the same information out on the internet. Ann has authority as a naturopath and healer of multitudes with candida, including herself, so she has experience in the many cases of the yeast infection. Her dietary advice comes from experience and many case studies, not just personal speculations which you can find online. Also, I find her dietary recommendations much stricter than those I've found in online sources. For example, in the early stages of the program Ann directs to stop consuming all bread. Other resources only mentioned sugars. Personally, I prefer the diet to be stricter if it means I'll deal with the problem quicker, so I definitely appreciate her approach. If you're dealing with this problem as well, this is the book to buy.
