Fill bags to size of soccer balls.
I’m posting this from the Beach after setting it up for the first time. It took about 5 minutes to unwind the straps, stretch out all the sand bags and fill them to size of soccer balls. The poles slipped in with no issue, and it stretched perfectly. The four corners were spread out with mild tension, but the material stretches to accommodate the pole height easily. Good shade. I’m surprised how compact the entire thing is. It easily fits in our Miata. I could get it all back in the single bag, but I’ll probably put the poles on a 2nd so I don’t have to worry about compactly folding the stretchy tent every time. I read the negative reviews and the manufacturers guidance over and over to “Fill bags to size of soccer balls” it’s sound advice, which I’ve parroted several times here. If you go to the beach regularly and the wind is not above 20-25mph, I think this is worth it. Due to the quality of the super-elastic stretchy material, I suspect the cost of manufacturing is higher than normal parachute nylon and such. The flimsy material that some complain of seems to be a light highly elastic sunblocking material. I suspect this is a feature, not cost cutting manufacturing choice.[EDIT: Over the next few days, we tried using it in different situations where we simply stretched the bags from tree limbs using Hammock Straps and Carabiners. The extremely stretch material made it a very versatile shelter to use as overhead cover. The light weight and super-elastic material made it ideal to stretch overhead. I'll add more photos to show that too! ]

Love it!
I'm rather happy with this product. I used it for the first time @ the beach and it worked great - excellent sun coverage, looks good, stitching appears to be done well and poles worked great. I had to stare at the 'bags' for a little to figure it out; they're easier than thought-lay it out, pile sand, pull cord to enclose sand 'n turn into a bag.I would recommend this product.

Lightweight and easy set up
This sunshade is so light and easy to bring to the beach. It took me a few minutes to set it up the first time with the help of the written instructions. The sand bag anchors were easily filled by my children and the pop-up poles were easy to assemble. I love the versatility in using 2, 3, or 4 poles depending on the suns position. It provided just the right amount of shade. It comes in a nice carrying bag. I am very happy with my purchase.

Not stable in wind, but easy to use
Pretty nice canopy. Sturdy poles, easy setup. Not very stable in the wind. Blocks the sun well enough so you are comfortable sitting under it, but a member of my party got a sunburn sitting under the canopy.I've used both this canopy and a ziggyshade daily for about 2 weeks. With good anchoring they can stand up pretty well to a modest beach wind. The fofana is a little stretchier and more transparent. The ziggyshade is darker, more stylish, but the poles are more flimsy and I don't like the anchoring system nearly as well. Either one should work well for the typical user.Mine initially came with a defective rope to one of the bags which costs it 2*. I'll update if the manufacturer contacts me to replace the rope.Update- manufacturer contacted me and sent me a replacement rope. Star rating updated.

We love it! Lightweight and easy to set up.
This is an awesome, lightweight shade that is so easy to use. It comes with sand bags that we will use at the beach and tent pegs, which we used to set it up in our yard. The wind was blowing as we were setting it up and we had no issues. The lightweight material is durable and functional at the same time. We put it up with 2 people, but it could easily be done with 1 person. The instructions were helpful and there are different configurations you can do using 2 poles or 4. You can also easily angle the shade as the sun moves. I highly recommend this shade cabana.

Does not hold up in 20 mph wind, bags that hold sand tore.
Great idea, I bought it too early and my window to return it has passed, but I just took it to Saint Simons Island and it was lightweight, easy to set up and seemed great! Then the wind picked up a few days and it was hard to keep up even using just 2 poles, the bags that hold the sand all tore, even the top had a tear in it, the bag strap even started tearing,It also does not go back in the bag easy at all. I was hoping this would be the best thing ever, but even people out there with similar tents could not keep them up when the wind picked up. It almost swirled the top until the post just fell. The bags tearing were the real deal breaker in this. On days when not too windy it worked pretty good. Maybe we got a defective one, but other people seemed to have trouble too. If you are going somewhere with very little wind or none, then it works great. If you fill it with sand and the wind picks up forget it. No website I could find, so don't know if they will make good on product. Always try it out within your return period for sure. I bought this too early & time ran out on me. It is not worth the money.

Impressed! Perfect for the beach!
We just returned from our beach vacation we used our Fofana Cabana every day. My husband and I put it up in just minutes. Perfect size (10x10) for four people with room to spare. Take down was a breeze too. A pop-up Florida afternoon thunderstorm ran everyone off the beach. We had ours packed up and under shelter while other with the EZ ups were still fighting with theirs in the wind and rain. We had no trouble with the sandbags (we moved the entire bag when it needed to be adjusted) so no ripping for us. We had two very windy days and zero problems. The people next to us had umbrellas and asked us where we purchased it after fighting with their umbrellas in the wind for two days. I highly recommend this and we are very happy with our purchase.

Great sunshade.
Just received and only have had time to set up in the yard. Very easy set up, only two minor issues I see for use on the beach. The poles have a nice sized ball on the top for the fabric, the the bottom of the pole is a 3/4” pole that I see will dig in the sand under tension. I suggest a larger foot for the poles to mitigate this. Second, the middle of the shade sags a bit, a center pole talker than the others would be nice (but will clutter the floor space).Overall this is a great shade canopy for the beach!!
