In standalone mode the units brightness is decent, but certainly not comparable to other units I have of the same wattage. The Red channel is underpowered compare to the Green and Blue when they are at full brightness. It'll take some practice to find the right mix if you're using with other lights. At least all the units appear to behave the same.Sound activation is weak, and unit to unit sensitivity varies. With several next to each other and music playing, not all of them will be triggered equally. There is also no adjustment for sensitivity on the sound trigger, which would be nice.DMX control works well on the units. They are 7CH control, with the following channels: CH1=Dimmer, CH2=RED, CH3=GREEN, CH4=BLUE, CH5=STROBE, CH6=COLOR/GRADIENT/PLUSE/JUMP/SOUND, CH7=SPEED.You can also link them in a master-slave arrangement. Set First unit to a mode, like solid color or fading, then daisy chain all the units, and set DMX addresses for them. The firsts unit will act as the master and copy all settings to the others. Be careful not to have other DMX fixtures connected at the same time, only the same lights in master-slave arrangement.The stands are a little too short to sit on the ground with a DMX XLR cable plugged in to allow enough service loop. Power cable is also a bit short too. Be sure to get extension cords. If you have wireless DMX receivers, get a short DMX cable extender too, otherwise it will stick out too far.Overall, very good deal for some basic lights to use in free running mode as uplights or accent lights. Not the brightest, and not with the most features, but a good deal for the money.

I really wanted to like these, but they are just so dim. All 8 lights on at once, and your stage is still pretty damn dark.I’ve worked with them for about 5 days now, and today I finally ordered something brighter. I just can’t make these work enough to be useful.

I purchased this set for use in a small multi-use performance venue (small concerts and theatrical performances.) having worked with higher end lights in the past, I was pleasantly surprised at their performance so far. They are decently bright (I’m mostly using them for backlighting, they wouldn’t quite cut it for primary lights). They are lightweight without feeling super cheap. The menu and buttons feel well constructed and the units respond well to DMX control. My only complaint is that they can’t be daisy chained for power but I knew this before I bought them, just would be a nice feature. The color mixing is a probably their biggest weakness with only 12 less vs units with more leds. Overall for the price, I’m pleased. As we run DMX control from computer software that supports 512 channels x 4 universes, I’m inclined to purchase more of them to make up for what they lack in brightness. Time will tell how they hold up to steady use. My lights did not include remote control, which I wouldn’t use anyway.

so.... i also experienced the failure of one of these lights on the 2nd time out......previous reviews talk about the power supply failing....however.... after digging into it... in my case it was a very bad solder joint on the 110 volt power lead ..even though the board has a socket for a plug on top, this model light they soldered the power leads direct to the board..... the issue is... ( or are)not a big area to catch the solder on.....apparently not enough heat when they solderednot good quality solder...i was about to install a retro-fit 12 v ps in the light when i took my vom and realized the wire appeared soldered but was not...so i kept my retro supply for another day and took some good ole fashion REAL solder and it's all fixed and working...i expect to eventually have to fix the rest of them....had the wire come off and shorted to some other part of the ps or fixture then i can see why some of the reviews mentioned they went up in smoke... ( maybe i will look at all mine sooner...after saying that )anyway, don't try the fix if yo are not qualified and / or comfortable with this stuff ........ and no matter what unplug the device before doing any work. and after any work like this, always ( always) plug your newly repaired item into a power strip with a circuit breaker and a switch in the OFF position........ set everything in a safe spot. when ready .. flip the power strip switch on.... this way you can shut it off quick.... or worse trip the power strip breaker.... before running for the fire extinguisher...when working, i do like the light weight light, they are bright enough for our little stage set up and easy to carry...

I thought this would come with a battery option....the cords are so short, and I needed them for an event, and I just couldn’t get them plugged in....you need an extension cord for each one to almost make it work like I wanted...I spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to get them all plugged into different areas of the room yet couldn’t make it happen....I didn’t end up using any as it would have looked silly to plug 3 in that I could get close enough to a cord....the fact they say u can hang from a ceiling is false unless u have outlets on your ceiling or a million extension cords to create the look....the light colors look great but pointless when I wasn’t able to get them plugged in....make the cords longer

This product is very good. The light colors are easy to change, and the lights are bright but soft. I have used it a couple of times in my event venue and received positive feedback.

This is our second purchase of these lights, we have been using these to backlight the windows is our haunted house facade for 4 years now. They’ve held up wonderfully, we do have them stored in permanent outdoor housing, these are not rated for direct exposure outside.They are nice and bright, and have nice color mixing abilities. We will probably buy and use more of these next year when we replace the last of our old fleet with these!
