What are the dimensions of the two compartments in the bottom tray please?

As the picture clearly shows, there are 3 compartments. The 2 outer compartments are about 4 inches wide, the middle one is about 3 inches wide. Depth is just over 1 inch.

Are the compartments removable, so i am able to put sunglasses in?

They would fit on the bottom layer ok
