Perfect to reach high, lightweight objects inside if you’re not too tall or heavy!
I wanted a taller folding step stool and I already have the B & R 12” one and love it. First I ordered another brands 18” one, as I wanted the tallest one possible, but it was ridiculously unstable and unsafe. It had no locking mechanism when open and would collapse if my cat rubbed against it while on it! It also had no non skid piece on alll the legs, half the non skid part didn’t even reach level ground! Whatever you do, don’t buy the 18” one! Anyways, I finally found the B & R 15” one. It’s not as tall as I’d like or as stable as the 12” one, but it’s much better than the 18” one. It doesn’t lock like the 12” one, but the sides can’t collapse easily when on it as the tabs fully engage when open and bearing weight. It’s also non slip and doesn’t slide on my tile. I know it’s technically not for using as a step stool, but I’m using it as one. I wish they’d make a 15 or 16” one in the same platform width as the 12”! The 15” is too small at the top for for most to stand or sit on. I’m 5’2 and 100 lbs, so I don’t have any problems, but I wouldn’t sit or stand on it if I was much larger, the seat part just isn’t large enough and it’s too low to the ground to be comfortable sitting. Overall, it’s handy to reach high cabinets and safer than what i previously did, climbing the cabinets to reach things.

Necessary for the Vertically Challenged
At less than 5’2”, I am vertically challenged, and my bedroom closet shelf is 79” high, which is a useless height for me. Needless to say that for years, I have tried tossing things that are not often used up to that high shelf, but unfortunately, anything that has been successfully tossed up has then remained, since I am unable to retrieve them. Therefore, that badly needed closet space has never been accessible. This easy fold-up stool only weighs 3 lbs. It has provided me with an extra 15” so that I can easily reach that height and I am able to reclaim all my items that have previously been beyond my reach. The top or seat of the stool is approximately 9” x 11” enough room to place my feet and stand comfortably. I find the stool to be extremely sturdy, it does not tip or tilt on either hard floors or carpet. The plastic is smooth and comfortable to step with bare feet, but it is not slippery. It opens up effortlessly, and the plastic notches glide, securely locking the top into place. Closing the stool is also simple, by gently pressing in both sides. When the stool is closed, the width measures less than 2”, so it can be stored in a very small slot of space.Sometimes when you are able to find a device that fulfills a very specific need; it just makes life a little easier, and this is one of those items.

A lawsuit waiting to happen
If this seat were a drug, it would have already been banned by the FDA. I loved this little seat, still partly do. But it’s just not stable over the long term. I threw mine out a week ago, after it completely collapsed on me while I was standing next to the stove over a pot of boiling water. Yikes!! Fortunately I fell away from the stove and avoided tipping the scalding water.I remember reading that it was not suitable for use on uneven ground, and in the couple of years I had it I think I took it outside maybe once. While uneven ground causes problems, it’s also not good under lateral shear either. If you shift your weight while standing on it, it can start to “unzip” at the bottom of the legs. After it unzipped the first time, I was able to put it back together, but then it seemed to start unzipping more often, which eventually led to the accident I described above.Truly, it is a “neat” little seat, but should be temporarily removed from market and reengineered for better lateral stability and to prevent catastrophic unzipping.

Extremely satisfied with B&R's lightweight STURDY and TALL Collapsible Stool - good price too!
5 stars for this EXCELLENT STOOL! I am very particular and know what I want so I do my homework before buying most things. After searching high and low for stools taller than 10 inches (returned the too short big box Depot store one), we are VERY SATISFIED with this collapsible stool.► ► ► Dimensions (collapsed): ~20in tall x ~12in wide x 2in thick► ► ► Dimensions (open): 15in tall x 12in wide x 10in thick. The whopping 15 inches tall is what sold me (several inches taller than any stool I could find anywhere (stores and online) in this price range. Taller stools do exist but for much more money. Even the footprint when open is small to fit where you need it without sacrificing on sturdiness.► ► ► Weight: a mere 3.5 lbs► ► ► EXCEPTIONAL CONSTRUCTION and VERY STURDY for the size. Rated for 300 lbs and at nearly two-thirds of that, I feel very safe - no worries about falling off or it collapsing. There are more sturdy stools but for the size, weight and price, you can't beat this one!► ► ► Ergonomically accessible grab space for handling (the negative space creates a handle). It is even easy to avoid getting your fingers caught anywhere. As always with Amazon, it arrived quickly and was safely packed in environmentally conscious materials. Extremely satisfied with this purchase. Thank you greatly B&R Plastics!

Perfect for closets (and showers)
This is the perfect little step stool to keep in your closets for reaching things on high shelves. It’s lightweight and very sturdy. I’ve been using mine for years. Recently I sprained my ankle badly and I’ve been using it as a shower seat. You’re not supposed to use it on slippery surfaces, but I’m only sitting on it, not standing on it and the fact that I can scoot myself in and out of the shower stream is super handy for lathering up and then rinsing. A favorite product!

Best folding seat out there
Whatever you do buy this company's stuff. Made in USA .They have little safety ramps that help lock it in the open position, even if you do not get it open completely. Great feature. The less expensive China options out there are lighter weight and do not have the little safety feature. I made the mistake of buying the China-made one first and was very disappointed.
