Perfect switch for running LED strip lighting in my Jeep
My husband recently put in some little LED lights in the back of my Jeep. The only problem with the Jeep is that it constantly has power running to its power sources in the car regardless of whether it's on or off. So, he grabbed this switch off Amazon really quick to give me an option to turn the lights on or off. It works great. This is really just a simple switch that was perfect for turning on or off the constant supply of power. We left if overnight and checked the next day just to make sure it wasn't getting hot or having a problem with the power source and everything seems just fine. The switch is obviously easy to plug in and install where you need it to go, and small so it's perfect for little out of the way places for where you need a switch. I'd highly recommend this. Again, we used this in a Jeep USB plug to power a small strip of LED ribbon lights and it works just great. Pros: Great switch, easy to use, easy to install, does exactly what it says it should Cons: None.

works great to power my LED strip I then attached to my alexa smart switch for "LED ON" function on a dumb TV back A+++
Excellent switch and well made. I use this on a string of white LED lights ran along the inside of my PC case totally unseen to the eye until I turn them on, and plu the other end into a usb AC adapter to I can light my inside of case up when PC is off or on to wok n it, check a fitting, upgrade or move a harddrive etc etc. it works very well. So much that I bought the exact same and did the similar thing on the back of my TV so I could have some ambient lighting behind my TV (but I bough a soothing orang-ish color instead of white) and my Tv isn't a smart one but an early plasma with no usb so this worked perfect to toggle on and off with voice plugged into my alexa smart switch also. "Alexa, TV LED" turns it on and or off. it works wonderful for this or I can turn it on with the switch as I walk by too....

Does what it says
Does exactly what it says. Bought it so I could toggle a pair of USB powered headphones so I could sleep my computer and not have the headphones shining a bright green light in the room and for this, it works well. The switch has a definite and sharp click when operating. Even so, it's very basic and plain, and while it doesn't appear that it will break, it does seem to be made out of cheap components that and I don't have the highest confidence in its longevity. For $6, I don't think you can expect much more, but just know that you are simply getting something functional, not the prettiest or best made piece of hardware.

well, it works and dosen't work! It cuts ...
well, it works and dosen't work! It cuts power but if you are using this in line and expecting data to be passed thru it well... it wont! I got this for my Prusa i3 printer that the led display stays on all night and drives me a little crazy when not in use o i was hoping to cut the usb power to it when not in use, well it does that and turns back on when fliped on but with this inline the printer is no longer recognised! this is JSUT A POWER SWITCH! Doesn't ork with any data!

It works for USB Power. NOT Data transfer! (It says this, but I didn't read it closely)
Works great for USB powered things so I'm going to keep it and hold on to it because I know I'll need it later. However, this does NOT do ANY DATA transfer. The item description does state this, but if you like to gloss over things like I do, you'll miss that important detail. This will switch USB power on/off ONLY and will do that job well. I bought it because I have a Cisco desk phone at the office that allows me to use my USB Jabra speakerphone (the Cisco built-in speaker isn't great) OR my bluetooth headset, but not both. I was hoping to eliminate the continuous plugging and unplugging I do of this device. Alas, the switch is wonderful at switching power, just not data.

Not good for power supply switch for Pi
Wanted to power a Pi off a portable battery pack (like one used to charge cellphones). The Pi runs fine directly off the battery, but there is no "on switch" - after shutting down, I'd have to reach in to the enclosure and unplug/replug it from the battery. So I got this switch. The Pi booted fine, but couldn't connect to a Bluetooth keyboard. Learning that it could be a symptom of under-powering the Pi, I checked the power from the battery with a USB Voltage Tester while connected to my phone. Directly from the battery (fully charged), it output 5.04 V at 0.8 Amps - perfectly within normal range. When I connected the switch, that dropped to 4.61 V and 0.38 A!!
