LEGO Holiday Ideas: With Exclusive Reindeer Mini Model (Lego Ideas)

Fun for the holiday

It's just a book of pictures of things people built with legos. Very little instruction to build anything except the little reindeer it came with. That was easy to build and super cute but overall I am disappointed.

Our lego-loving 9 year old received this book this Christmas. He loves everything Lego as well as Christmasy. He was pumped with the small set of bricks that came with it and he thought the ideas and holiday-themed sets represented in the book were great fun.Our only complaint is that there's not really any direction on how to create any of the scenes shown. Now, this kid is very creative and capable of making a lot of things with Legos and with some thought and discussion we are able to replicate some of the items in the book. But, again, he wanted to make some of the bigger builds shown in the book and we just can't without a guide of some sort. There were some suggestions about how to make small elements or how to use pieces in a new way, but no actual build directions.

My daughter and I love this book, we've been able to make a few of the builds ourselves. Dropping it by a star because, unlike some other Lego books in this genre, there's no build instructions per se, just an image from different angles of the build. For adult, experienced builders this is likely enough to figure out the majority of the build, but for my daughter who is a younger Lego fan it's more of a pretty book than something to help her build with.Not saying it's a bad book by any means. We do enjoy looking through it and it helps inspire us to build together (either original creations or build using instructions from other books).

It is a good book for the price and has the pieces to make a reindeer, but almost every build in the book requires a special piece that even avid Lego builders/collectors won't likely have. I'm not sure where I could even find some of the pieces.If I could I would give this 3.5 stars because it really was an affordable book/set and my son seems happy with it. He is the type of kid that will just try to substitute for a different brick in his builds if he can't find a piece. But if you are buying for someone who wants to build it exactly as in the book, then I wouldn't recommend this book.

My son loves this book! So many cute holiday ideas to create. Keeps him busy for hours! The included reindeer is adorable.

First, everyone has differing opinions on books. With that, this book was perfect for my 8 year old son who was looking for some Christmas ideas. The builds are of varying levels of difficulty. You also need to have quite a few Legos (my son has approximately 1500+ pieces) to complete some of the builds. He enjoyed the challenge, completed 3-4 of them in a few days, and we'll use it again next Christmas.

I thought this would be a book with step by step instructions on how to build. Just like the ideas you get in a lego brick box. It's not. It came with one step by step build, with the included lego, which was awesome, but the book was kind of a waste.

Nice book, but it would be helpful if they could give some step by step instructions on how to make the Lego builds for kids that are in the 6-8 yrs age range.

A wonderful Christmas ideas book. A must to have with your Lego collection.
