After struggling for several years with a well known high end brand, I gave into spending more than normal buying this press. WOW! I can load up this press with garlic cloves and extract all using just one hand! Cleaning it is not a chore as all the hinged parts swing aside to allow complete cleaning without resorting to knife scraping.

Very expensive, so it had to be perfect. Sadly, it's not. I liked the sound of the company and the idea was good, but there are too many moving parts, so bits of garlic get lodged everywhere. It presses well, but you're then left with two pieces of metal that move outwards (supposedly to make things easier). In fact, it just doubles the bits to clean. Returned, I'm afraid.

Needed to replace our 15-year-old garlic press after a weld failed on it. I had no idea that the size of our previous press was apparently immense compared to most that are out there, as I tried 2 others prior to this one and the tool’s well was barely big enough for a tiny garlic clove, much less the 2-3 cloves I was used to being able to press. Beyond that, the other presses rusted in the dishwasher. I decided to step up my game and spend a little more in order to get this press. So far I’m happy I did. It is very easy to use, as the mechanism allows little strength to easily press any garlic clove. Although it still isn’t as big as my previous press, you can at least fit a very large or a couple of smaller cloves into the press, and then easily mince them with little effort. The quality of the finish and mechanism is excellent. It’s built like a tank and is comfortable to use. I have tried pressing cloves without peeling them first, which I’ve tried a couple of times and it works (sadly, I usually forget until I’ve already peeled them!). Cleaning it is fairly easy, as long as you rinse off the press right after you use it (pretty much the same as any other), and then I throw it in the dishwasher and there have been zero negative results of doing this. I’d consider this worth the cost and it seems like it will have a place in my kitchen for years to come.

Built lika a tank.. this will probably be the last press i bought come reckoning day.. I would have given it one more star if it had fewer moving parts..

I LOVE this tool. I was a bit skeptical about this (expensive) garlic press. I have bought and thrown out more garlic presses than I remember through 45 years of a lot of cooking. They either needed Herculean strength to squeeze the cloves through, or they ended up pressing the juice out but no chopped garlic. How frustrating. I've been using a good knife lately - works beautifully but not much of a time-saver when you need to chop a whole head of garlic. Invest in this one! It is by far the BEST garlic press I have ever used. Sturdy but easy to press (my hands are not as strong as they used to be), super-easy to clean, and it works beautifully - one squeeze and the garlic comes out minced, with very little residue left on the tool - easy to rinse off. Will fit one very large clove at a time, or 3-4 smaller cloves.
