3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener SJ3550 250 Black

I have used Dual-Lock for years, and I know it will do what it's designed to do very well. It provides very firm retention, while still letting you separate the bond if you need to. This is much more expensive than Velcro, but it's worth every cent! I have used it to mount microphones on classroom desks, and electrical equipment inside lecterns. I've never had anyone pry a mic loose accidentally with this stuff. When you need something with 3x the hold of industrial Velcro, this is the stuff to go to! Once you place it with Dual Lock, it's not coming lose unless you pry it loose. One caution: remember that this stuff mounts with adhesive, and over time the adhesive can come loose in warm environments. Mounted on a horizontal surface, it will never fail to hold. Mounted on a vertical surface, the Dual Lock will not come lose, but over time the adhesive may get soft and release. Plan accordingly.

I'm not sure what everyone is on about in terms of the adhesive not being sticky? Maybe they didn't prep the surfaces properly? My experience has been that the adhesive makes the Dual Lock almost permanent, and I wish they sold the adhesive backing as a roll of double-sided tape. The mushroom-style closure of this "Velcro" is exceptionally strong, so take this into account when purchasing.

Great Product! I am a guitar player, and I am constantly changing my pedalboard around. The hook and loop that comes with with most Pedaltrain style boards is great for the board it comes with, but not the best mate for the pedals you want to mate to the board. Cut a few pieces to fit in each corner of the pedal, (if it’s a larger pedal I’ll usually put some in the top and bottom center sections of the pedal) and you’re golden. Once attached correctly to the soft sided Velcro that should already be on your board, it’s not going ANYWHERE until you decide you want it to, and even then I find I have to use something like a butter knife to separate it. I even use it on itself to mount a Strymon Ojai expansion to the bottom of my board since Strymon does not currently make mounting brackets for it. I’ll have picture below showing how it holds up.

Dual Lock holds extremely well, as the faces of the tape actually lock together, compared to the hook-and-loop products which have a fuzzy fabric on one side that doesn't hold as strongly and that wears out over time. Mine came in two segments, one of which was just 4" long. That means less adhesive length, so the 4" piece would have greater probability of the adhesive separating from whatever it's connected to. I guess that's 3M's way of not wasting short ends during packaging. NOTE: It's important to know that the grip design is identical for both surfaces you're connecting. So this four foot piece will give you only two feet of connection. The product photo accurately shows this--I should have looked more closely and spared myself some disappointment.

As always, 10/10. Great tack and holds everything steady when needed. I use it for all my pedals, Tablet and the keep the power supply in place.

The best "velco" of all.

Worked great to hold my pedals on my board and keep them from falling off. The velcro that came with the board didn't hold well at all, so I asked a friend what he was using. He recommended a product that was too pricey, so I decided to go with these instead. They work great! Just be sure to clean your board with alcohol first, then put it down. They will stick like crazy!

Immensely strong and sturdy product. Locks onto itself with immense strength and was able to support a heavy set of headphones.
