It was a near perfect fit, although I wish the depth of the item was longer, as I had to adjust quite a bit to get a solid fit. Regardless, it sure beats my previous ball catch, where the spring and ball would pop out and land on my tiled floor. Replacing this, is much easier than replacing a cracked tile, and it does its job!As a buyer I often rely on the reviews of other buyers when making my purchases. After looking high and low locally after one of these catches broke on my pantry door, found them at Amazon. The replacement catch was just slightly thinner around shaft and a tiny bit longer than the original, but would have still worked fine. However, we took off the metal casing from the old catch and put it around the shaft of the new one. Problem solved. This catch also does not hold the door as firmly as the original, but I actually prefer that because while it still keeps the door shut, opening the door is a lot easier. Before I had to pull really hard on handle to get the door to open, now it just glides open. Love it.

I bought these to replace the door ball latch at the top of the closet doors in some of my kids rooms. The old ball latches had become really stiff and the closet doors were difficult to open.These ball door latches fit into the hold slots perfectly and were really easy to adjust to the proper height. The doors on my kids closet now open easily and are quiet when opening. I went and bought some more as extras since I know I will need them to replace other ball latches that are starting to wear out.

Works. More heavy duty than I anticipated. Not decorative or very brassy like. It works and does as intended. It is mostly out of site. But I might go to a decorative hardware or a site with more selection next time. It does exactly as intended and installed easily with right drill bit and tools - minimal handyman skills needed.

My two closet doors have been hanging open for three years or four years because the original door latch mechanisms broke ages ago. I finally ordered a pair of these catches. When they arrived, it took all of five minutes to pop them in. They easily adjust to suit the door-to-frame gap and work great. Never should have waited so long to make this easy, inexpensive repair.

Got these too replace two in my house that had broken. The ball had come free of its retainer. I used a flat blade screwdriver to pry out the broken one. I left the striker plate and the old collar in place. The new one slipped right in after removing its collar. I suspect these are standard sizes and are universal replacement.

Perfect replacement for the old ones that broke in my closet doors. Easy to install, just pop out the old ones from the door and tap these in.

I was able to use a screwdriver to remove my faulty catch. My old catch had the bearing ejected and would not stay closed. I used the screwdriver to pry the old up and the new unit slipped right in snugly and took no effort.

Had to replace some existing ball catches in our pantry doors, and was pleasantly surprised that Amazon seem to have exactly what I was looking for. The item's description was great, and the dimensions provided gave me all I needed to confirm these were the same as my existing ones. It took a little bit to arrive, but they can well packaged and no visible flaws. Was a snap to change out the plates and the ball closes, although the spacing between the two screws was slightly larger than my existing, they still worked very well. And I think best of all, I could tell that the inner threaded ball earring housing was a better quality then my existing and unlikely to bend and break like my existing had. The height adjustment of the ballbearings was simple using a nickel. All in all, great purchase to quickly cross off one of the items off my honey-do list.
