Good but too expensive and not without downsides
Not sure how I can comment on battery life as these are mains powered! They’re well made OEM cables but I would have preferred the cables to connect to main by a smaller connector preferably a universal cylindrical plug-in which would enable smaller holes to be drilled in walls/frames etc. I am almost tempted to cut off the plug and solder a USB connector to use with the the various spare Netgear Arlo plugs that came with earlier add on cameras but that would hardly be any smaller that the magnetic camera plug. Also they are way too expensive!

Easy to get power to an external camera
Perfect for charging my Arlo camera fixed to the garage wall. Saves having to reach up and remove the camera in order to charge it. The length of cable means that the camera can be some distance away from the power source.

Does what is says on the box!
Needed the outdoor charger so did not need to remove camera - works a treat, simple to attach and then remove when full charged - suppose you go just keep it on if you wanted!

NETGEAR Arlo’s gotcha moment
To preface my review, I bought an Arlo Ultra charging cable from a third party Amazon vendor before which failed miserably within the first few months. It’s still hanging like a dead vine from a tree. Regarding the official cable, my initial assumption was wrong. I thought I’d only receive the Arlo Ultra charging cable which terminates to a USB. For £35,99, I considered this outrageous. Cables like this generally cost pennies to make in Asia. However, as shown in my photo you actually receive an intergrated charging brick. The wire is apparently certified for UV up to 500H. Though the cable is unnecessarily packaged like an iPhone - even though... it’s just a cable. I understand what NETGEAR are trying to do. But, their product user experience is not nearly as polished as they’re trying to make it out to be. In summary, the cable is expensive. Yet, it’s cheaper than buying a rubbish cable only to throw it away. I will attempt to alter my review if the charger fails.

No nail clips included
Works well no issues after several months. Seems to hold charge around 85% and I have a 24hr recording subscription. It's an external cable but offer no clips to run cable sadly, Screwfix had some for very little money. Arlo eco system is very pricey but I find keeping genuine parts worth it especially is have new subscription which includes added warranty.

Faulty
Worked fine for a couple of weeks, then Arlo floodlight camera started to factory-reset itself. Looking at Arlo community forums, it suggests that the outdoor cable could be triggering this behaviour. Not a good experience to have camera go offline, with only way to recover being to climb a ladder, unmount the camera, and go through the sync/set up process all over again. Returned both the camera and cable due to this.

Really easy to install
These are by far the best cables for your Arlo Pro 3 / Ultra / Floodlight. Yes, they are more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Some of the non-genuine cables are prone to faults but do make sure that if you are mounting your camera outdoors then you definitely need to get the outdoor cable. There's a good length of cable on these and they are easy to install. Just a word of warning, the connector head on the cable is quite large so if you need to thread it through a hole then you will need to drill quite a large hole in order to fit this through.

Worth the money, both for the quality and the convenience.
Only recently upgraded my 5 x Pro 2 cameras to Ultra cameras and the picture quality difference is nuts. However, an equally great upgrade is the power connection. The micro USBs on the pro 2 really are rubbish - they’re temperamental and corrode easily. These magnetic power connections are brilliant! It just clicks into place and works, without any fiddling. The cable itself is nice and thick, which isn’t too much of a surprise, given the price point. You do need to plan, if fitting outside, as it is a fixed three pin plug at the power end, so it has to be fed to the camera from inside (not easy in a loft!). Anyway, I’d totally recommend these cables and it’s worth the money to never have to go and swap batteries. Plus, the blue light on the front of the cameras stays on when they’re fully charged, which is all the time when plugged in, so potential burglars can see the camera nice and clearly, which is a great deterrent.

I bought this cable to be able to hardwire my new Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight camera, as the battery runs out very quickly if the light comes on regularly. Arlo themselves don't sell this cable anymore and their support pointed to Amazon to buy it. However, neither the description nor the product photos state that this has a non-detachable UK plug. So this is unusable in all other countries. Besides, as other people pointed out, nothing being detachable means any holes you want to feed the wire through have to be at least as big as the magnetic coupling. And for those that want to get creative and connect their own standard 9V power supply to the connector: you're out of luck, since the camera will only charge when it detects this specific adapter in some way. So it's vendor lock-in from Arlo, which would only be mildly annoying if they would actually sell a version of the cable for non-UK sockets. Instead of mildly annoying, now it just seems like poor product planning. Is the competition better? Well, Eufy still has the sync button issue (Google it), Google and Ring have their own drawbacks. What else is there?
