DOA; everything lit up...but there was no flight...
This helicopter was hugely disappointing.Once the helicopter battery was charged and the remote control batteries installed and connected, the expected lights on the helicopter and lights on the remote control appeared. But no response despite repeated attempts to then operate the helicopter were all fruitless. While troubleshooting we had one --and only one-- episode of the helicopter rotors energizing for long enough to send the helicopter plummeting from the kitchen counter to the floor. We never again got the helicopter to respond to the remote.I have criticized Syma helicopters for the quality of their user manuals...but at least they include manuals. This helicopter includes only diagrams of the helicopter and controller printed on the box, and the usual self-parodying Chinese-English safety instructions ("Do not charger not-rechargeable batteries").Avoid.

Do NOT BUY!!
I have never written a review on any product but I felt obligated after my horrible experience with this copter. I am new to flying but I do have a little experience with flying some protocol Remote helicopters. On my first flight one of the blades broke. On my third flight the clamps that keep the bottom set of blades stable shattered( I'd assume this is due to the use of cheap plastic because the gorrilla glue I use for everything else wouldn't even take hold on this part of the helicopter). After using tape and other adhesives, I was able to stabilize the bottom blades and make them work again. On my third day of using the helicopter ( and only getting about 10-15 flights) the tail motor died. I have found that parts are very hard to find and very exspensive. Since this copter is for sale on Xheli.com for $32 I am considering buying a whole new one for parts but I would not recommend this purchase for anyone. The flight was very good and stable but It is a shame they couldn't put it together using better parts.

Funnest heli I've owned
I have a big 27 inch helicopter and a single blade copter that I can only fly outdoors and a micro copter that can only fly indoors. This one can fly anywhere. It's the funnest one of the lot. I always take it with me when I take the big ones outside and fly it in my living room when I'm feeling lazy. I removed the side wings just to make it a wee-bit lighter. The lights make it look super cool.

KA-50 BAS
I purchased this "toy" online from Amazon. Delivery time was quick. Upon reciept of the KA-50 I took it out of the box. First impression was it appeared as though someone got to play with it before I did. The remote was scratched up, the stickers were bubbling up and like I said it looked as though the unit was field tested then shipped. The tires on the helicopter itself were flat (Still are). It appears as though they were compressed in a hot enviornment and they melted a little. The antenna is not strong (normal for radio type antennas) and will easily bend. BE CAREFUL with it. No owners manual came with it. I can figure it out, just the same, I would like the complete kit. After all, I paid for the stupid thing. Also, now I am really nit picking, the instructions on the box are an affront to English grammar. Currently setting up the remote (inside the house) has been a little bit difficult. Not knowing what each rotory dials function is has impeded setup time. Was it worth it? No, but I'm bored and was looking for a minor diversion. Is it cool? Sure. The lights are interesting and the harrassment factor (me against the dogs) is amusing.

Black Air Shark KA-50 Helicopter- Defective AA Battery Cradle
I recieved my Black Air Shark KA-50 Helicopter promptly. The Helicopter is reasonably priced and appears to be sturdy. Two spare rotors and a small screw driver included. At this time I can not rate the overall product becuase when I attempted to install the AA Batteries in the cradle for the Remote Control Module I found that the AA Batteries which are required would not fit into the cradle ( to small due to an oversized coiled electrical contact ).Helicopter was poorly packaged for shipping and no operating instructions were includedNewest Black Air Shark KA-50 w/Gyro 3-Channel RC Helicopter ---NEW!.I have contacted the Vendor directly to see if they would like to send me a new AA battery cradle or allow me to trim the coil that I believe is the problem .Still looking forward to trying to fly it. I'll keep you posted.Contacted the vendor directly They were most cooperative. They could not supply me an instruction manual on how to fly my Copter but agreed to send me a new Remote Control. The vendor advised that there are many videos on You Tube that show how to fly my RC Copter. I watched these videos and my grandson and I had great fun. We crashed it broke a few parts. If yoy are going to fly any RC Copter you should expect that you are going to have to repair it sometime. Had lots of fun!

Impressive
Found a great price on Amazon for this helicopter. The mall prices for the exact same thing were twice as much. My 11 year old son can fly this better than me. He's had practice though with the smaller ones. The stablization and turning is amazing for this toy. We like the gym spaces the best. Not an outside toy even with no wind. A little breeze can push it away. The first one we purchased did not fly right and we sent it back. This one has been perfect so far and no complaints, except that son wants to show it off for friends outside.
