Solid Company, Looks Nice, Works as Advertised
I picked up the Kuryakyn 7108 Universal Kickstand Extender purely because it looks nice, it would operate around my foot boards and of course, the solid reputation of the Kuryakyn brand. The product came with a beautiful Hard Chrome finish with all of the parts And instructions visible through the clear, vacu-formed package. Upon opening, I found the Chrome parts sealed in plastic wrap and a silica-gel packet as added protection to ensure you receive a pristine product... an extra touch that most other companies don't do. The instructions were clear and concise with full color photographs showing the different installation configurations to meet the needs of your bike. Although not a perfect fit on my 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000, it still functions well with occasional readjusting. This is not due to the product itself but due to the polygonal shape of the Kawasaki 2000's kickstand nearest the pad of the stand. I'm sure a little sheet of rubber tubing will fix that issue. Functionally, I can still index it around my foot boards and it's easy to find when I need to put the stand back down. ***Again, this is not because of Kuryakyn's design*** With anything "Universal" there are concessions that have to be made. If you want "perfect", you'll have to get a manufacturer specific part. :) That having been said, it works as advertised and the finish was flawless. I recommend this product to anyone who is "Altitudinally Challenged" and/or who's feet just don't reach the ground (like me). ;)

I got charged more for the shipping than the product is worth, funny theres a motorcycle parts store 1block away!!
Well this is what i think. First your products are great and me and all the guys and girls that i ride with think your stuff is great but thats where it ends .? I tried to save a little money and i ordered a few parts like a kickstand extension i would of normally have gone down the street and bought it but i thought i would order it and save a little money for my future purshases but instead i get charged double of what the part cost and i dont think its right . Anyway im not happy and as long as i can help i will never purshase any of your products ever again and as long as i can i will make sure that any of my friends and any of there friends know how customers get treated. Ps. Probably dont matter 1 less customer .. Trust me not just 1...

Perfect Fit
Fit perfectly on my 09 Yamaha VStar 650 Silverado motorcycle! No more looking or feeling around for my kickstand anymore. I used to lean over and grab the kickstand to get it far enough away from the frame so I could eventually use my boot to move the kickstand. I definitely recommend this product. It works perfectly and is very sturdy and seems strong enough to last. If you bend this thing then something is definitely wrong with your kickstand! A+++

An inexpensive motorcycle side-stand extender. Works well.
If you have folding Rider Floorboards, such as the Kuryakin brand heel-toe-shifter rider floorboards that are identified with Kuryakin model KU4038, you'll want one of these sidestand extenders. Just be sure your rider floorboards fully fold "up", which you can do with your left foot on the ground when coming to your stop, and the backward reach for the sidestand (meaning, kick stand), is a breeze. A quality and attractive item, easily installs, looks good.

Kickstand Extension is a great idea!
Own a 2003 Honda VTX 1800. The kickstand is next to impossible to pull out as it is so tight to the frame. Purchased the Kuryakyn 7108 Kickstand Extension. Makes it extremely easy to find the "kickstand" with your boot. Make sure you tighten this thing with everything you have! Mine wasn't tight enough around the kickstand and turned downwards, brushing the ground on a few leans until I could fix it. I tightened the bolts extremely well this time. Should do the trick.

Does this fit a Yamaha VStar 1100? Maybe/maybe not....
...it's according to where you actually want to put the thing. The VStar 1100 has a pretty skinny kick stand (some folks call it a "jiffy stand", I call it a kick stand, ummhmm). Anyway, it takes a good bit of tightening to make it fit down low on the stand where I wanted it. Now, the good folks at Kuryakyn seemingly cut a couple of corners (a small play on words, if you will forgive me) when they chose a U bolt instead of a right angle conduit style clamp to include with the kit (see the included pix). If you tighten the nuts enough on this U bolt to pinch the kick stand between the clamp and the U bolt, it actually starts to get into the narrowing, "U" portion of the U bolt and starts to stress the nuts as they are tightened...so much so that they may (as mine did) actually start to gall the bolt/U bolt thread interface, actually welding the two together. When I had completed the first installation attempt, I threw my leg over the bike and began to back it out. The extension hit my leg and tore a hole in it (blood, sweat and tears flying as copiously as my curses). Obviously, the configuration I chose (one of 4 offered in the instructions) was the wrong one. I chose poorly. So then, when I went to loosen the installation so that I could try another of the 3 remaining configurations, one of the nuts (having galled) could not be removed. Luckily, the size and strength of the U bolt is such that a 1/4" drive, 10 mm ratchet can easily twist the U bolt in two. Bottom line: Kuryakyn should spend another dime or so on the U bolt part of this product and supply a U bolt with right angle corners instead of a continuously curved one. This would allow the nuts to be continuously tightened down to the point where one runs out of threads instead of trying to pull and stretch the "U" into two "L"s. Cutting corners...? Remember...? Get the pun now? The joke's on us I guess for paying $45 for what certainly seems to be a shoddy, overpriced American product. Oh, the product will probably fit on a VStar 1100, higher up on the kick stand shaft. But instead of tearing a hole in my leg, just above my ankle, it would have dug into my calf. Maybe I should have mooo'ved it.
