BITIWEND Mini Bluetooth Amplifier, HiFi Audio Power Amplifier, Stereo Digital Amp 2.0 Channel 100W with AUX/USB/Bluetooth Input, Speaker/Earphone Output

This really has no right to be this decent - it's a tiny little thing, which is perfect for me as it is going to be tucked away to power a pair old old floorstanding speakers that were otherwise redundant after I upgraded my speakers in our living room. They've sat under my bed for ages purely because I didn't want to try and fit an amp into my already cluttered spare room where the PC is situated, but this thing is so small it takes up no space at all. Of course it would be pointless if it was small but sounded rubbish, but I'm pleased to report that it punches way above it's weight (and size!). Is it a match for my amp downstairs? Of course not, but it's not designed to be. What it is though is a bargain for £30 or so, and a neat way to breath life into old speakers that were literally gathering dust otherwise. All the music I've thrown at it has sounded good, either via my old Eltax speakers (which were never amazing but more than adequate for use with my PC) or via the headphone out socket and my AKGs. Setup is dead easy for both connecting it to a PC (via USB where it appears as an external audio device), or if you are using aux or bluetooth for a phone etc. I'd suggest getting some banana plugs to make life easier connecting your speakers to the binding posts but it's not essential. The manual that comes with it is small and concise but does the job as it's not exactly complex to use. For the price this is a great little (very little - I'm still struck at home small it is compared to a normal amp) amp that offers a really decent sound for the relatively meagre asking price. [Updated after a few months of use] see end of review. I’m using these whilst away from home. I’m used to decent kit/sound but couldn’t cart my pre/power amps and floorstanders with me. I was doubtful as to how good this amp could be, but at the price it was no risk to give it a go. I hooked it up to some very old but OK JPW P1 bookshelf speakers. These are 8ohm two ways rated at 70W continuous and sensitivity 89dB/1W at 1m. I know them quite well as I have another set powered by an old NAD amp in my study. Usually an easy, detailed and warm sound. And that’s how they sound with this amp too. I’ve only used with Bluetooth so far (iPad, Android phone and a Samsung TV). I’m using this all for sound with TV on movies etc and background music. The sound with TV is much better than anything this cheap has a right to sound. It’s not going to do much justice to explosions etc without a sub, but everything’s been very enjoyable and dialogue very clear with hardly any noticeable lag. Minor lip sync delay when using Airplay to an Apple TV and then Bluetooth from TV to the amp, but not that bad and quite amazing that this is all possible and works. The sound exceeds my expectations as it’s genuinely good enough to sit down and listen to music (without wincing at least). I suspect it would struggle with larger speakers, but is fine with bookshelf speakers. I have it in a medium/large room (81 sq m) and it’s just about powerful enough for background listening. It won’t go loud in this kind of setting, but if you were using in a study or bedroom I suspect it would be fine. Ignore claimed power output however. Strongly recommend ordering some banana plugs at the same time as the binding posts for the speaker wire are all close together on such a small unit. I have no problem with Bluetooth range from an iPad in the same large room (up to about 25 feet) and it will also work from upstairs through an old wooden floor/ceiling. Signal drops out some if I am between my ipad/phone and the amp. Also drops out (not unreasonably) if I go in the kitchen (next room) which has a stone wall in between. [Quick update after a few months] Still very much enjoying this. I’ve been listening to mainly classical so perhaps it’s relative lack of power might show on other music. On what I’ve been listening to (often Radio 3 via Sounds and Bluetooth) the sound is nothing short of remarkably good. A wide range of classical and some other stuff (Duke Ellington with Mahalia Jackson). Not a trace of harshness but plenty of detail and air. I have the speakers far apart in the current room (about 4m). Probably not ideal but on some live orchestral I was getting a concert hall type acoustic with lots of air and fine detail from quieter parts. Like I say, better than you could reasonably expect for the price (although it has gone up by £5 since I purchased 9 months ago). The only wrinkle is unsophisticated Bluetooth which cannot manage more than one connection. I have to disable Bluetooth on the iPad and go through menus on the TV to reconnect, every time and vice versa. It also gets drop outs if the iPad is about 4m away and my body is in the signal path (otherwise fine). Get the banana plugs though or you risk blowing it up.

I used to have an old hifi behind my PC monitor, just so I could have reasonable sound when watching movies or playing games. This allowed me to throw away all but the speakers, and gain better functionality along the way. It connects as a USB audio device and is plug and play, fasten some speakers to the screw terminals (or use banana plugs), plug in the small power supply and you are ready to go- no hassle. It also allows connecting via bluetooth, so I can stream an audiobook/podcast etc from my phone, as well as an AUX connection. A front mounted headphone socket keeps my wife happy in the evening too :) . Sound quality is as good as can be expected for somthing this small- it is not going to compete with your home theatre, but it still impressive for its size and suprisingly powerful. Even comes with a range of cables for different connection options. Great piece of kit.

Only had this little amp a few hours, driving my elac bass and satellite speakers. Got to SAY BRILLIANT. so tiny dont know how you do it. So many++++++ s and good all round punchy sound. Its bluetooth so you can easily connect to mobile phones and laptops and Amazon echo it can be used as a sound card in laptops or pc good replacement for an old crackly 3.5mm audio plug,also an analogue input and headphone out. It accepts banana plugs so no messing about easy and straightforward to set up Big jog wheel controls volume and switching between inputs and it gets just warm to the touch. No remote but not a problem. Its 12v/24, the 13.5v power supply supplied has a faint hum, using a 19v power supply stopped the hum an increased the max volume a bit higher with no distortion:)) I've read the reviews and no one mentions using it in a vehicle? 12v for cars and 24v for lorry's would work:)), as the bluetooth auto reconnects, no messing about start car switch bluetooth on phone, off you go Just to add the bluetooth has a decent range,its been on 24 hours now,no drop outs/ cut ins .still no heat build up:) To sum up if you've got an old set of speakers,this amp will revive them:)) and dont forget using in a vehicle.

At this price point, I didn't expect too much. To be fair the amplifier circuit is pretty good with plenty of grunt and good stereo separation when run off an external analogue input via the Aux connection. It drives smaller speakers and headphones, particularly the latter, very well indeed, as loud as anyone would want to go; the range is quite well controlled provided you have a good quality source signal (I was feeding from an Arylic S10 - now, that is £50 well spent). However, there's definitely a fair bit of background hiss detectable in quieter passages - if you like the retro sound of cassette tapes this could be for you! Unfortunately, hiss is quite intrusive on headphones during quiet spells, and as others have noted there are minor clicks and pops when working the volume dial, but I think I could live with that if that was the only failing. As for plugging in a streaming source, such as PC or phone or Raspberry Pi, for playback via the mini USB port/ internal DAC, for me that was just NO! Very thin decoding, little in the way of bass, and the treble got harsh quickly, nowhere near the control it had compared to the external analogue source. Really the USB connect is not much use, and seemed no better than an internal DAC on a PC or phone, hence a bit pointless. Bluetooth is basic SBC and again the reconstituted BT sound via the internal DAC circuitry has little to offer other than convenience. Overall , I think it's not really for me, shame because at the heart of it the amplifier circuit is not half bad.

I bought this little amp to replace an SMSL item (used to boost the sound of my laptop) The SMSL amp has started to overheat in use even when not playing any sounds through it. I chose this item based on price, and the presence of an AUX in socket along with other features such as bluetooth being a useful addition to have. I was prepared for things to be disappointing after all at the price this amp is selling for you don't expect huge quality. Well the quality is fabulous it performs far better than i thought it might. good sound no noticeable distortion, for the money it's well worth considering. Bluetooth pairing is a breeze and works well with phone and tablet playing through it to my laptop satellite speakers I'm genuinely pleased with this little amp

Audio is ok. Bass is not very strong. It is a solution to a no sound problem and works reasonably well. If You are not wanting to buy an amplifier or similar, and you want reasonable audio in a tiny footprint then it is good value. This is why I bought it and it serves my PC well. As an aside I can’t understand the designs of this device and feel it lets it down. The inputs are on the front instead of the back. It makes it impossible to forget you have a device with wires coming out of it on your desktop. Headphones port is understandable but both source inputs are front facing meaning it can never look tidy. For a small device this is its biggest let down.

I was dubious something this small and inexpensive could deliver. I had a decent pair of Cambridge audio Minx speakers sitting doing nothing and wanted to utilise them by streaming content to them in my home office rather than buy a stand alone wireless speaker. Have to say for the money this is brilliant. Sounds very clean and warm but the fidelity is there in abundance. Streaming Classical music which is my preferred choice while working i am very pleased with the output. Of course the speakers you pair this with are going to have a major impact but this little amp is punching way above its size and price. As others have suggested some banana plugs are a good idea due to the proximity of the posts. Very happy with this. I would say an excellent solution to small room streaming where you already have a decent set of speakers to use with it.
