Great for speedy eaters!
We bought this for our new puppy who absolutely inhales his food. Worried he would choke, this has slowed him down considerably. It's sturdy and has a good weight to it. The design makes it difficult for a dog to pick up in their mouth, but if your dog is clever enough, they will be able to flip it. Thankfully ours is a goofball and hasn't figured that out yet.

Too deep and narrow
Any animal with a flat snout will simply not be able to navigate this. I have a Scottish Fold cat that I adopted in July. He has a terrible habit of scarfing down all his food and then getting sick. I tried a food dispenser that would dispense in gradual amounts, but the smallest amount is still enough to get him sick. So I tried this bowl.I mean, I guess the bowl certainly does slow him down, because he can't actually get to all of his food effectively. The center is wide enough for him to reach the food, but anything that ends up in the spirals simply doesn't get eaten.Additionally, the bowl is not at all anti-skid. I have his feeder set to dispense at 5AM and woke up at 7AM to find the bowl across the room. He had very easily pushed it all over the place, so I'll have to place it back under the dispenser every time he moves it.Probably gonna see about returning this and giving another product a try.

This bowl WORKS!!!
My new grand-dog was just wolfing his food down, barely chewing at all, and then throwing up his dinner because he ate too fast. This bowl solved the problem! Now he eats at a safe pace, and he doesn't purge after eating anymore, and it's only been TWO DAYS! He's a large breed, exactly what breed(s) we aren't certain--yet. (We get his DNA test back sometime in the next two weeks.)The bowl seems sturdy enough, but we pick it up when it's empty so he doesn't chew it up because he could easily reduce it to silicone chips in minutes, if he really wanted to destroy his bowl. Luckily, he's kind of gotten the idea that if he brings grandma his empty bowl she WILL put some food in it, each and every time. Puppies and whelping (pregnant or nursing) females simply can never get enough to eat. They are ALWAYS HUNGRY. They aren't just pretending, they ARE hungry.I feel really good about this purchase, and it's going to help us to raise Tiger in the best possible way. We take our implied contract with our companion animals VERY seriously in my family. We know when we adopt a pet that s/he is our responsibility FOR LIFE. They get the best diet and veterinary care we can afford, toys they love, warm places to be when it's cold, and cool places to be when it's too hot. When they get older they get glucosamine treats and CBD oil to help alleviate the aches and pains of the elderly fur babies. And they are all VERY happy and healthy dogs, indeed, even the two 11 year-olds!

Happy pup
This bowl has honestly helped out a lot, I have a 4 month old American Bully and he was SWALLOWING his food which was causing bloating. With this bowl he has to work for it, and he takes his time and enjoys the food (and no more bloating!)

Not for Chewers!
This bowl was pretty good but not for my dog who's a Lab/Pointer Mixed. She chewed through this bowl after 2 weeks of usage!

Just wanted to comment
Wish I had this for my dog before she passed. She was so dam greedy lol I can imagine her being pissed that she can’t eat the food how she wants. I’m thinking about getting another dog.

It slows down the dogs by about 30 seconds, but they do love it:) Thanks
