61098 1/48 Lockheed Martin F-16CJ Plastic Model Airplane Kit

Came in perfect condition wrapped in plastic wrap in the box absolutely amazing.

What a great kit. If you’re a fan of F-16’s or aircraft in general then you won’t be dissatisfied with this kit. The details are top notch and there’s plenty of design and build options to suit your desires. The payload is removable and swappable if not glued in place which is cool. It can be tricky to build at times. The cockpit, as usual, must be completed before moving on to the rest of the assembly, and due to its design, the landing gear bays must also be nearly completed before moving on to the fuselage. Some of the painting and details can be tricky so it’s not for those new to modeling or the feint of heart. You’ll have a great time with this kit, especially for the price. Definitely recommend.

Great build, more detail than expected. USE OF EXTRA THIN cement helpful

This is a very high end model with 200 tiny precise parts. Great for an expert, but much more difficult for a casual senior modeler. Much more detailed than they models I remembered in my youth. Now 73 yrs. old.

This kit is complex with many small parts. The fit of the parts is excellent and the model comes with different options depending on the block you are trying to replicate. The paint scheme is quite variable on an F16 depending on the role it is used in. The most common version used by the Air Force and National Guard has a metallic dull finish and this is addressed in the instruction sheet. Some applications are painted a dove gray or a medium gray. You choose the version you like.

Yes, this kit indeed comes from Japan. It may indeed take a month to ship. Patience might be necessary. However, this kit is so good it makes it well worth the wait. I have recently finished building the kit, it is a modeler's dream. I only had two areas i needed to fill and even that I was able to repair by adding tamiya extra thin cement to the gap and refitting the parts. This kit almost puts itself together. The detailing is gorgeous and crisply scribed, not too deep, not too soft. Everything about building this airframe was enjoyable. It comes with a nice selection of armament, decals and parts for three different planes, full maintenance stencils, and is worth every penny. It is really a very very nice kit. Tamiya did an amazing job, I would recommend this kit to anyone interested in the F-16. Another nice touch is the includion of polycaps for the underwing fuel tanks and centerline pods and for the tail to make the entire assembled model easier to transport to, say, a show. It is not a simple kit, though, being so detailed, so don't expect it to be a snap-tite revell intended for a child. All the sprues are molded in light grey, and it comes with two full canopies: one clear and one tinted for radar absorption, check your references to see which your build uses.

I am fairly new at aircraft modeling about six months. I have completed several models during this time. This kit is fun to put together. I had to review the instructions several times and then watch Eduard - Modeling Madness on Youtube for ideas and how to proceed. The instructions were clear and the parts fit great. Removing the canopy line on the top was easy and only took about 15 minutes using 1500 grit sand stick and some polishing compound. I am very please with the fit and form of these pieces. I take my time and do different sections and pre-paint components before cementing them together. I have not completed this model and am still enjoying the building process. I do not recommend this kit for young children and those with little patience.

It's an easy build, parts very good but a small bit of filing. The illustrations for assembly are sometimes difficult to follow. I always sit back and think.

Come ho già avuto modo di sottolineare in altre recensioni (parlo dell’F-16CJ 1/72 di Tamiya versione “base” e "full") il kit è strepitoso... ne ho provati tanti ma Tamiya è ineguagliabile! Le parti sono ben dettagliate e combaciano in modo perfetto o quasi segno di un'eccezionale cura nella progettazione e costruzione. Unico neo sono le decalcomanie relative solo ad aerei USAF. Con un piccolo sforzo in più avrei aggiunto decals per altre aereonautiche (oltre ai relativi pezzi in più come fa Hasegawa) per rendere il kit superbo e più versatile ma fortunatamente le parti in più si possono trovare sull’aftermarket. Il prezzo è per la scale 1/48 assolutamente equo ma ne vale tutta la spesa. Allego foto del modello dell’ereonautica cilena

タミヤさんのキットです。少し前のキットで今の1/48シリーズより部品数は少ないですが形は正確、モールドもしっかり再現されてるし組み立てもスムーズに出来るしでお手頃なキットだと思います。塗装もそんなに大きくないので手間がかかりません。完成品は小さく感じるかもしれませんが、他の1/48キットと一緒に写真を撮ると結構存在感が出ます。お手頃な良いキットだと思います。現代の戦闘機と言えば…F14,F15,F16,F18,F35,で格上のF22でな感じかなと思います。F22ラプターなんかと比べたら大きさの違いがよくわかります。

This is an older Tamiya model from the looks of things. However, it doesn't matter as the parts come together so well. I enjoyed each part of the build and didn't feel stressed at any point. As such the model was a pleasure to build and I'd gladly build it again.

Excellent model, I am really looking forward to building and painting it soon...

Cette maquette de F-16, proposée par Tamiya, est certainement ce qui se fait de mieux sur le marché à cette échelle ! Facilité d'assemblage, grand nombre de détails finement reproduits et belles gravures sur les divers éléments composant le fuselage... Bref, voilà un produit de qualité que nous ne pouvons que vivement recommander (et offert à un prix compétitif, via amazon, c'est le top) !
