I am a planner fanatic - I have no less than 20 agenda / planner / journal covers. As I, and my kids, are getting older, I have find I have less to write down. My planners are shrinking in size. I do monthly instead of weekly / daily planners and I find that I can happily use the small sized notebooks to capture thoughts, ideas and to-dos. I have many of the mini marble notebooks and when I happen to come across this nice little cover I figured I would give it a try. Love it, I turn to it every day for writing down EVERYTHING (I do not even use my planner every day anymore). The cover itself it lovely - nice brown leather, nice stitching, fits my .99 cent store mini notebooks, looks attractive on my desk but can be thrown on my backpack or purse. The only thing is that the leather had a strong odor when i took it out of the package and I had to air it out on a table for about 2-3 weeks before I was able to use it. The odor is gone and all is well.

When I first opened the package, I was a little disappointed in the size. I was looking for this exact item, but small enough to put in the front breast pocket of a Wrangler button down western shirt. With further inspection I grew to appreciate the size as well as the quality of the leather. This well crafted leather 4.5" X 3.25" mini composite notebook holder, was purchased to protect my small notebook that I use on a minute by minute and hour by hour daily basis. At first the holder is just on the verge of being too large for either of the breast pockets, but within 10 days of heavy use, the leather is already starting to mold & form around the mini notebook, but not so bad as I can still change out notebooks as I fill them. This refillable leather notebook case now fits nice and smooth in either front breast pocket. I really appreciate the quality, durability, and the simplistic function of this cover. So far it has done great in keeping my composite notebook, dry and clean. I will add pics as this notebook transforms. The 1st & 2nd pics will be right out of the box new/ never used. The 3rd & 4th pics will be after 30 days heavy use. The 5th & 6th pics will be after 6-months of heavy use. Thank You

Changed review after finding note on how to stretch the leather.

Purchased one of these recently and after trying it for a week have ended up not using it. The quality of the leather seems reasonable, but I'm not sure about the stitching. Just one row of thread holding the whole thing together, looks like it won't be long before it starts pulling apart. The reason I stopped using it is because it adds to the bulk of the notebook it contains and so doesn't feel so comfortable to carry it in your back pants pocket the way I like to. Tends to poke you when you sit down, etc. Now I just stick the memo book directly in my back pocket and it feels more comfortable. Yes, the leather protects the book, but first of all it's an extremely tight fit and rather a pain to try and work the little books into the case. They should have left an extra eighth of an inch or so clearance in the little pockets the cover is supposed to fit into. And the little notebooks are dirt cheap and expendable anyhow, so I don't care if they last six months in my pocket. When they get beat up I transfer the contents to a new one and throw the old one out. About half the interior of the case is unfinished, not even tanned, just raw leather, doesn't look good even though that part is covered up when the book is in it. The outside isn't that beautiful either, just leather, plain leather, unadorned, undecorated, nada. If that's what you like, you'll like it. After all the negative comments I am still giving it three stars because it's decent quality and does what it claims to do. It's a near-miss by people who obviously care about their product and good quality and all but fell short in design and execution.
