The Roots and Philosophy of Dynamic Manual Interface: Manual Therapy to Awaken the Inner Healer

After having studied with Frank Lowen for 15 years, this book provided me with much insight into Frank's origins and path in developing his techniques. I very much enjoyed reading this book, and it just made me hunger for the next one. I began taking his Visceral Manipulation courses for CEUs for nursing and acupuncture, and to attempt to heal my own traumas and pain. One course followed another, and the work entirely changed my perspective, and life, restoring my endurance and ability to work. I completed all of the Dynamic Manual Interface coursework in 2010, and am now ready for another round of the revised editions. I also purchased a copy for my doctor, Dr. Neil Nathan, author of "On Hope and Healing, For Patients Who Fall through the Medical Cracks", who possesses gifted hands, and a listening to his patient that compares to very few physicians. Thank you Frank! And thank you, Laurie, for all the behind the scenes work!

It is his story and development of this unique style of manual therapy I utilize in my practice. It is a fascinating and humble writing on a brilliant man's journey of discovery and experience. This must read for any manual therapist provides a great deal of his initial insight, his profound wisdom of the human body and its amazing abilities. His book lends the practitioner to unveil inside themselves the nature of their body's wisdom and innate willingness to heal. The inner healer is awakened inside each one of us who experience Frank's work, or receives manual therapy by him or the students who have been fortunate enough to be with him. I am excited for this book and the wisdom he shares to those seeking to state of the art, effective techniques in the field of manual therapy. Thank you Frank!

Frank has studied with the best. He is smart and articulate in passing along what he has learned and practiced for so many years. I consider him the guru of visceral manipulation in the cranial world!!!

I have taken classes from Frank Lowen, and found this a fabulous book to read as to his thoughts and evolution of ideas.

I am a massage therapist. A friend has always talked about Frank Lowen's work. So, I read his book, and was so inspired that I signed up for the core class for his work. What Frank Lowen talks about in his book is how he uses his hands to palpate the tissues, and his journey to understanding how to effect change in a body with respect for the body's innate healing systems. It is a an eye-opening read! It definitely makes one look at how they intereact in a session with their client and what can be understood just by listening to one's hands. It has changed my practice and increased my palpation skills phenomenally. I would highly recommend this book and Lowen System classes.
