Live and Learn - DC over BOSE
I used to fly with a David Clark headset and loved it--comfortable, quiet, and virtually indestructible. Then my company switched to Bose. I've been using a Bose for the past several years and it's an overpriced plastic piece of junk! The Bose ear cushions crumble and get black stuff all over your ears and head. The spring in the top of the headset causes a constant squeezing pressure on your head that hurts after a few hours, and you cannot adjust it. The plastic wishbone piece that holds the ear cup has a metal clip in it, which causes the plastic to crack on every one I've seen. Mine is holding on, but I have seen a lot come completely apart for my colleagues. The noise canceling in the Bose is good, but occasionally you get shocked in the ear--yes, shocked! I'm spending my own money and going back to DC's. Those babies are bulletproof and do not require batteries... My DC headset arrived a few weeks ago and works wonderfully! I had forgotten how great David Clark was. It was quiet and the sound quality was crisp and clear. No more weird battery box dangling off the cord like my old Bose, no more impedance problems when two headsets were plugged into the same comm net--it is great! On long flights, I don't get the headache from having my head squeezed like I did with the Bose. Plus, KC Headsets had the best price I've seen anywhere and terrific customer service. On top of that, they have a 2-year warranty on the headsets they sell, at no additional charge. I saved a lot of money and got a great headset!

excellent function
I work as a com/nav troop on heavy military aircraft these headsets work amazingly. Especially compared to the ones I built from broken headsets 1st bought one and a nice difference in quality.

As Described
It is the standard headset used in UPT for simulators and possibly T-1s. I purchased it along with the D&C conversion kit to use in the civilian world due to unbeatable price, and it works very well. I do have to set the volume higher than normal due to impedance levels but the headset still has a good 1/4 turn left for later use when the hearing is not so good. I would say it is a good option if you can get it for a good price and the conversion kit makes it very usable for civilian aviation. Hope the review helps.

Not the greatest
The mic did not work. Also, the ear pads gave no comfort at all. Overall i was very disappointed in the headset and will probably buy a BOSE next time.

Preamp not included
Needs a pre-amp to work on the hornet. Pre-amps are almost unobtainable at this point rendering the unit practically worthless on my platform.

What the tin says
Described just like the vendor said, new in the box. No complaints; everything was included and arrived in a reasonable amount of time.

Three Stars
Have a problem with both microphones. Had to send to the manufacturer to get them fixed.
