I purchased this product to hang rope lights up on a beam in our living room. The beam is made of wood, and I cleaned the surface as recommended on package. I placed the hangars the recommended space apart and let them be for 24 hours. When hanging the rope lights, the hook would not latch properly on most. There were some that latched properly, but it took some effort with several tries to get it to latch. After a few minutes of the rope lights being up, the hangars began falling off the beam. Only a few of the hangars held the lights properly. I had to use a staple gun in the place of the ones that fell. I did not wanting to put staple holes in the beam which is the reason we ordered these hangars.The rope lights are standard size, so I thought the lights would fit, and I am disappointed that they are not going to work.

Sticks well when following directions completely
I used these on my metal deck rail outside to hang LED lighting. I put one up every 2 feet and it is working well. Only one clip failed to stick. It takes time to do all the application steps, but it is worth it. I had a partner help hold them on and that allowed me to work ahead with the prep of the surface.

Would not stick outside.
Used up half the first package trying. Wanted it to hold lights on the deck. All dropped. These were rope lights. Go back to metal screw hooks

Terrible for outdoor lights
I love most Command products, but this one is terrible. I pressed each for 30 seconds and let it cure for about 24 hours to make sure it stayed. Half of them fell off despite all that and in moderate, dry weather. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone for outdoor use.

Works for plants too!
I bought these to try to hold up my plant vines so I wouldn’t put a whole bunch of holes in the wall. They work amazing and so well that I bought a couple extra sets for when my plants grow longer. I love that I can clip them closed so the vine stays in place. Works great on my bigger vines too!

Don't buy - they do not stick even if you clean the siding as described.
Horrible, I bought these to put a string of lights up outside the front door on the siding. I cleaned the area with alcohol as the directions described and with the smallest weight of the lights, they all fell down.
