This program is designed so simply that a 5 year old could follow the format. It is absolute perfection for it's simplicity and user friendly layout. The course is presented in small, easy to absorb modules that everyone works on at their own pace. Also, every exercise of every module may be repeated multiple times if desired, or revisited at anytime.Each portion of this program is well designed to be easily adaptable to any type of learning needs/habits. You can make this course your own by doing each exercise at your own pace, as many times as you'd like before moving to the next exercise. Or, if you like to proceed very quickly through the modules as a refresher course to increase your current typing speed, this course will still be very helpful to you.Whether you have never touched a QWERTY keyboard in your life or are just a tiny bit out of practice, you will find this course to be a wonderful investment. And SO cheap! It is worth 10 times the price. I could not have conceived of a more perfect learning tool for learning and increasing typing skills.

I bought this product for my son to learning typing. It is much better than the free Internet site. I think the application is helpful as it has testing for speed and accuracy. It loaded on Widows 7 without any problems.

This is a truly BASIC typing program. Yes it does work. However, I am rating only two stars because of the intentionally deceptive practice of using the word "PRO". Just as found in the food isles across 'Murica we see the blatant abuse of "NATURAL" and "ORGANIC" this little modifier lead us to believe that the produce is intended for truly serious students who are focused on truly professional achievements and goals. Can one learn to type "professionally" with this product...well, probably, yes. However, having used other typing programs in the past I am disappointed at the really BASIC offering of this program. There is no option to customize the duration of tests; you only have three pre-selected lengths to choose from. ( a very big minus). Additionally, other programs display a keyboard which shows in real time the keys which are being typed. This feature is one of the most important features to help a new student wean off of staring at the keys. Then, there's the LAMES...no I didn't make a typo. They should be games, but the too few and lack luster offering will not entice any child to go practice typing ...because it is so fun!So, if you have no other choices go ahead and make their day...but be ready to give "PRO" a new definition. In my estimation the price for this item should be roughly half of the price listed; and even then you would only be getting what you paid for. At the current price, I feel taken advantage of by the professional packaging. SHAME ON ME !!!

The program is good and helps develop the aspiring typist. It's pretty vanilla, though. SO, don't expect nice music to go along with your lessons, or the comforting Mavis Beacon voice to encourage you. It is what it is, and after using Mavis Beacon for a couple years prior, in my opinion, Typing Master is a better program---though about ten dollars too much. That is the reason for three stars instead of four.

Doesn't work with new computers.

We homeschool our 13 year-old and needed a typing program. I researched several programs before choosing this one. I have not been let down. It is fantastic!!! There are 6 or 7 lessons per module and 12 learning modules in all. The lessons graduate from adding a couple of new keys for the module to typing sentences with the new keys, all the way up to typing paragraphs with them.Once the modules have been completed, the student moves on to taking timed test on things like Aesop's fables. You can adjust the time, such as 2 min, 5 min, or 10 min test. It just keeps spitting out paragraphs until the time is up.The program is very easy to navigate. You can view the achievements for the session, or over time, in terms of accuracy and words per minute. Reports can also be generated in pdf format with the click of a button.I highly recommend this program!
