Important Discoveries
Mark Demos' book, 'The DNA Code: The Forensics of Purpose, Passion and Performance' is an excellent addition to the literature of possibility and self-understanding. Via his experience in Forensic psychology, Demos leads the reader, sharing inspiration and guidance to transform oneself, one's team, company, organization. The book's value lies in its ability to point you in the right direction. Readers will make important discoveries and connections...each of which can lead to breakthroughs, and cumulatively, can have a profound impact. The positive effect happens best when one trusts the inquiry process, delving into the material of self-analysis to discover the DNA code for oneself. Demos' strength lies in his ability to present the material, and support inherent discoveries, as if he were a trusted friend, guiding and encouraging throughout the process. If you want to catapult yourself out of a rut, discover yourself more deeply, champion your company, team or organization through understanding and positive change, I encourage you to read this book.

Good read and well written
Good read and well written. Like a good coach, he reveals the best and simplest approaches to some the fundamental problems of life which is often complicated enough.

A CATCHY TILE, BUT NOT ABOUT DNA
This book caught my interest because it appeared to tell how to find your purpose in life by an analysis of your DNA. IT DOESN'T. The book says nothing about how your DNA works. Nor does it explain ANYTHING about the physical and biological DNA in relationship to how to tell your life purpose. The book touts (on the back cover): "The DNA Code is the defining work for discovering your Life's Purpose, Using the most innovative, exciting and scientifically comprehensive discovery process of the 21st Century, Positive Forensics, you will discover the hard-wired DNA Talent Markers that define your Life's Purpose." This description is totally false. Yes, there are such things as DNA markers, but this book does not explain anything about how real DNA markers work. Neither does it explain how any DNA codes work. The book CONSTANTLY talks about, for example, "Discovering Evidence of Your Emotional DNA Code," but only gives you a list of words to scan saying, "Start by picking five or six words from this list that you feel best describe you:" So this is not a book about DNA at all, but a book of self analysis that doesn't use any scientific information from the analysis of biological DNA, but only a made-up concept calling it the "DNA Code" The forensics the book talks about are TV show forensics. At the beginning of chapter two, the book lists almost a full page of television shows that have used forensics. And the book is based on TV show forensics. Once you understand that the book has nothing to say about DNA, then you are left with a very shallow book about how to discover your talents. It offers questions that the reader should ask, such as: "What are you going to do?" "How will you build a business?" "Where are you going to go?" "Who are you going to marry?" (from page 37). The book discusses forensics. Here is just one quote out of the book: "I recently read the Detroit Police Department is going to examine Evidence from more than a thousand cold-case rapes. I wonder how many criminals are having sleepless nights with the possibility of now being brought to justice." (page 61) So perhaps you see where the book is going. It's just a hodgepodge of thrown together stories and ideas of how you may be able to discover your talents. The book uses clever wording throughout such as: "My DPS (Design Positioning System), which the book explains: "We call this conscience. . . . The emotion we feel when we ignore our DPS is called guilt." (page 88) The book purports to describe the "evidence" of your talents by asking the reader such questions as: "What clubs, associations, or groups do you belong to?" "Do you receive a lot of emails, newsletters, e-zines, books, or magazines that reflect your intense interest?" (page 134) The book uses what it calls the "Educational Subject Analysis Matrix" which is simply a list of high school and college coursework areas, and gives the reader a chance to list grades and preferences for the courses. (page 196) The last part of the book, "How to Interpret Evidence" gives "Forensic Tips for Remembering Your History" including the questions: "Who were your favorite teachers?" and "Where did you go on vacation?" All in all, this is a high school level (or below) pop psychology book that hardly could be called "scientifically comprehensive." Again, the book touts itself on it's back cover as being "the defining work for discovering your Life's Purpose." Unfortunately, this is just not the case, forensic or otherwise. Steer clear of this book and don't waste your money. My only wish is that the book could have actually been as real as it's cover looks. Don't be fooled.

A friend recommended this book to me, but I thought it was very plodding and lost interest after about 6 chapters.

NOTHING has ever worked like this has--Change your life--fast!
I bought and read "The DNA Code: The Forensics of Purpose-Passion-Performance" several months ago after seeing the author, Mark Demos, at a book signing. We all were asking questions after his explanation of the book and the work he's done over the last 20 years (he's a former therapist who became frustrated with the therapy process). I'm a psychologist but I've never read a book like this that addresses, specifically, the detailed areas of a person's life so methodically. I've been suggesting this book to all my clients and have bought many copies for my friends as a gift. All have raved about the impact this book has made on their life. Several have changed their careers as a result or made some life altering change that they had been too scared to do before. It makes you a sort of "investigator" to your own life. And even though it's deep, it's cleverly written to make it fun to discover the evidence about who you are based on your DNA as qualified by the suggestions for how to discern what your DNA is through assessments and "Discovery Questions". It has none of the usual boring and pointless general questions used by so many books. Although I hate to admit it, as a seasoned therapist, many of my clients have said to me: "I've had nothing else work for me like this". I only wish I had this book and program at the beginning of my career to help my clients the way it has the last several months. Did I mention the results are fast, too? I can't keep it on my shelves at my office. I've come to learn that the author has free workbooks that I've been getting my clients to download and do as homework. The results are incredible. This works a little too well. I'm seeing changes with clients within 3-6 sessions. That is NOT a normal time frame. Whether you're a coach, therapist looking for a tool to help clients achieve their treatment goals or a person looking for a definitive path to your purpose and passion--this is the book for you. Don't waste your time with anything else. I have read them all. Nothing works like this. The DNA Code: The Forensics of Purpose, Passion and Performance
