When mounting this to a spotting scope is the reticle on the first or second focal plane?

The eyepiece is fixed power so FFP or SFP won’t apply. The eyepiece will allow you to spin the reticle to get it level and it does have a diopter to allow you to focus it better but it should remain a True MOA scale.

What is the lens barrel size?

This Reticle is ~ 56mm. If your asking about the size to see if a camera adaptor will fit this it is about 1.25-1.5mm smaller than the variable power eyepiece that comes with the scope. If your asking about a PhoneSkope adaptor in particular i know they make a different adaptor for this particular eyepiece

Will it work with other vortex models like the viper?

No, it’s not compatible. This eyepiece is specifically designed for use with the latest generation 27-60x85mm Razor HD spotting scopes - it is not compatible with the 65mm and 50 mm Razor HD models.
