I have had the water chef filter for 3 years now, and I think it works great. One thing that got me to buy this is that it is actually certified. I checked on the certifications for other filters and they are not listed, but this one actually is on the NSF website. Beyond that, this was fairly easy to install initially and works well with no leaks. We have a new baby in the house and it is great to know that many of the metals and chemicals present in water are being filtered out for baby and mom.

Update 11/3/21: I just replaced my filters for the third time. This water filtration system is simply the best, in my opinion. Our water tastes great, is clear, clean and is great for the environment. We use thermal water bottles for take along, eliminating throw away plastic bottles. This system is a terrific value, and they have found a loyal customer. Original review: I bought this filter to replace all of the other filters I have tried over the years. Filters hanging on my faucet, or huge filter pitchers in my fridge or on my counter, replacement filters taking up space in my pantry. The cost of all that stuff really angered me. I started my search for an alternative. I found it with Water Chef. Under the counter installation that was so easy. Did it myself. The filter works for 1000 gallons. Our last two filters cartridges lasted for 14 months. This is our third. We are saving so much money and the water tastes great. No more worries about clean drinking water.

We have town water, and it’s amazing how much the filter gets out. We have had our unit for 7 years or so and it is still doing its job very well.

As some know, Nikken stopped supporting their undercounter water filter leaving us to find filters on their own. Looking around and the Water Chef seemed like it might work. Well, first of all, it does fit in the chamber but it is larger than the one it replaces. Second, it doesn't screw to the top so it bounces around. However, it seems to filter and the water quality is "okay," not great. None of this is a knock on Water Chef, just sharing my experience. I will try another filter next year.

I absolutely give my WaterChef filtration water system 5 stars! I’ve enjoyed it for about 7 years now and it has worked perfectly from day one. I get fresh water with no impurities at the flip of a handle. So convenient, it is used throughout the day. Never a leak. Beautiful design, definitely one of my better investments!!

Great water filter/system. I am happy to buy a new filter only once a year! Unfortunately the monitor was not working properly and I no longer get the indicator lights. I am not the original purchaser of the system (it was already in the home I bought), so I was told by Water Chef that I would need to purchase a new sensor for an additional $50. For a system this expensive, replacement of sensors should be covered (regardless of who originally bought the system).

I purchased this replacement cartridge for my WaterChef, water filter. I've had it about a year now so I new it was time to change it. As a consumer I look at detail from the packaging to the product it self. WaterChef as a company has gone ahead and done just that. When you buy your replacement Cartridge, not only do you get a brand new cartridge, you get a new battery for your Intelligent Monitor so that means you wont ever be drinking unfiltered water again, which I think is a great thing. I understand that everyone has different taste buds and not everyone will agree with me, but once I changed the water filter, and let the water run for 15 minutes like the manufacture suggests, the water tasted fresh and great, I hope this helps
