Walker Quiet-Flow SS 55544 Direct Fit Exhaust Muffler Assembly 2.375" Inlet (ID) 2.25" Outlet (OD) for Toyota RAV4

I was able to fit on my 2006 Toyota Rav4 and the stress of irritating noise due to my rusted and damaged old one is gone. I am simply satisfied.

Some people complained that it was too loud and some said they were unable to install because the pipe on the muffler did not fit the original pipe-let me say that the install was a breeze. I ordered the muffler and the tailpipe/resonator along with a new bolt kit and gasket. Was able to remove the old tailpipe from muffler with no problem, cut the pipe by the muffler inlet and removed the old part. Hung the new muffler on the hangars and connected to the old tailpipe. Got an exact measurement to cut the front pipe and muffler pipe slid right on-no problem. Good quality for the price compared to OEM even though it won’t last as long as the original. Was able to return the ordered tailpipe with no problem.

The muffler is shorter and therefore is made taller or wider on height. This causes the top of the muffler to constantly tap are bounce off the bottom, or floor, of the car. I have been trying to fix this by bending the hangers...but no luck yet. Also, the muffler did not come in a box. As a result, the ends of the pipe were all bent from handlers setting it on end and need reshaped round. The welds on the exit pipe were absolutely horrible. But, I was in a jam for time and i still used it. Fingers crossed it holds up.

Received the part in a short amount of wait time. The muffler fitted up just like the original. Sounds much better than my old unit. No Issues or problems, Thanks Walker!

purchased Oct.2022 and today is July.2024 broken inside and making rattling noise. had motor mount issues making noise and vibrations and that was masking this thing rattling inside. replaced with oem motor mount and that noise is gone and this rattling noise from muffler stood out. i did not expect this noise coming from the muffler b/c i just replaced less than 2 years ago.

EDIT PART 2 - it has been 3yrs 8 months since installation. The pipe rusted out under the rear hanger and it detached leaving a big hole in the pipe after the muffler. So the “muffler” is still function... however it will need replaced. EDIT - Amazon is great. Due to the defects in the muffler they gave me a 50% refund since I prefer to fix it myself as opposed to returning for a replacement. I'm satisfied with the transaction and have also increased my rate rating to four. Keep in mind I'm giving this a four star rating because it is an affordable mass produced alternative to the very expensive OEM muffler and obviously the quality on this item is going to correlate to the selling price. I deem it an acceptable replacement for the price. (5 stars for Amazon's customer service!!!!!!!!) The muffler is affordable and fit my 2007 RAV4 with no problems. My OEM muffler rusted out pretty bad and was extremely loud. Installation was very easy however when I started the engine to check the muffler for leaks I did in fact find two leaks. Part of the seam had a crack/hole in it toward cat end and there is a pin hole in the muffler itself. I don't really feel like going through the hassle to return the item since its currently on my car, but I'm planning to call Amazon tomorrow to express my concerns with the quality of this product. The construction does not appear to be very stellar and I don't expect this muffler to last more than a few years....but it's still an affordable/functional muffler and way cheaper than buying OEM.

Why, for the life of me, i cannot fathom. However, if you find yourself predisposed to this special form of self torture, then this muffler may just be the thing you need to fulfill your masochistic designs. I recommend investing in a lift. Buuuut, you probably won't have the thousands of dollars or the space or a shop to house such a purchase. In which case, you'd be sliding around in the rain squeezing beneath your toyota with images of being crushed by your 2 ton machine dancing distractingly around your brain-o-vision. When you've overcome your terror, i suggest you cut the pipe leading from the catalytic convert to the muffler inlet long. Impact wrench and PB blaster for the old bolts on the resonator end. Hang the new muffler in the grommets before making the final cut to length of the cat-back pipe. Then grind the very end just a bit with a grinding wheel to clean your burrs. Connect that end first and work it in there gradually before bolting on the exhaust outlet end. Dont forget a clamp and your gasket and remember that bolts don't come with it, neither do gaskets, and if you don't have them, you will need to also buy nuts because nuts don't come with the bolts. Fixed my wife's 2010 Rav4 with it, had to find extra nut and washers as the bolt spring kits doesn't include nuts, as the OEM muffler have built-il nuts to the rear flange

2008 Toyota RAV4 Limited 2.4l Muffler does not come particularly well packaged. Granted it’s a muffler. But the ends did get dented a bit. Which required some filing. Do yourself a favour and order the bolt kit and gasket kit amazon recommends. You will need these parts. To fit this muffler, measure 13 3/4” from your existing factory muffler and cut the pipe. (See pic). To professional install this muffler this joint in the system should be welded. I don’t have a welder, so I used an aftermarket clamp. Muffler fits good. Doesn’t leak. Just would be even better if it was welded. Once installed the muffler is as quite as factory. So far I’m pleased with the overall fit and performance. Can’t yet speak to how long it will last. A new factory muffler (which includes the cat ) costs $1100+ so this is a good alternative!

Like I said, you need to make a nice plate, because if not, it’s going to hit the frame and vibrate other than that it’s excellent can’t complain too much but it’s OK
