Will this handle two external monitor and display at full resolution? Are there limitation when connection multiple monitors?

you can hook 3 externals with two that have the same resolution but 4k will not be possible. Thunderbolt tech would be needed and you would need to go from a mechanical dock to a usb dock by lenovo

Is this compatible with the T580?

This docking station is ABSOLUTELY compatible with the T580. In fact I am writing this answer on a T580 docked to this docking station (40AJ0135US). I didn't even need to update drivers or anything.
